Senior Staff Engineer, SAP-Financial Management

REQUIREMENTS:

• Total experience: 7.5+ years
•  Should be able to lead process transformation, designing, configuring, and implementing SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) solutions, acting as a liaison between business and IT, managing projects, providing expert guidance on best practices (like GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Profitability), mentoring junior staff, and ensuring system alignment with business goals and compliance, often requiring strong stakeholder communication.
• Should have strong solution design & implementation, lead FICO module configuration, customizing solutions (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO-PA) for new projects or enhancements.
• Should have business process expertise, translate complex business requirements into functional designs, map processes, and identify gaps or improvements.
• Should act as a bridge between business users, technical teams, and project managers, managing expectations and communication.
• Should have expertise in project leadership, oversee FICO workstreams, manage risks, plan activities, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
• Should develop test cases, manage testing cycles, and create comprehensive documentation (functional specs, training materials)
• Should be able to provide expert support, troubleshoot issues, and train users, ensuring smooth go-lives and post-go-live stability
• Should have done multiple full lifecycle implementations, significant S/4HANA experience often required
• Must have deep expertise in General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Should have understanding of global accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and industry-specific regulatory requirements
• Should have cross-functional Knowledge; strong understanding of integration points with MM, SD, PP modules
• Should have technical familiarity with SAP best practices, statutory/tax requirements, and potentially integration tools
• Should be able to guide and mentor junior consultants, fostering knowledge transfer
• Should have excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and client-facing skills
• Experience in mergers and acquisition and large projects is a plus

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understanding functional requirements thoroughly and analysing the client’s needs in the context of the project
• Envisioning the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements, and being able to define technologies, patterns, and frameworks to realize it.
• Determining and implementing design methodologies and tool sets
• Enabling application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities.
• Being able to lead/support UAT and production roll outs.
• Creating, understanding, and validating WBS and estimated effort for given module/task, and being able to justify it.
• Addressing issues promptly, responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Giving constructive feedback to the team members and setting clear expectations.
• Helping the team in troubleshooting and resolving of complex bugs
• Coming up with solutions to any issue that is raised during code/design review and being able to justify the decision taken.
• Carrying out POCs to make sure that suggested design/technologies meet the requirements.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
