We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Staff Accountant / CPA to join a growing public accounting firm serving clients in Washington Court House, OH. This full-time position provides direct exposure to both tax and financial reporting engagements, working with individuals, partnerships, and small-to-mid-sized businesses.
The ideal candidate has solid public accounting experience, strong technical knowledge of federal and Ohio tax regulations, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements efficiently. Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
• Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures for business clients
• Draft and finalize financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and post adjusting journal entries
• Provide proactive tax planning recommendations and advisory support
• Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements
• Communicate with clients to obtain financial data and clarify reporting needs
• Research tax law updates to ensure ongoing compliance
• Identify process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency
• Support team efforts during peak tax and reporting seasons
Requirements:
• Active CPA license required
• Minimum of 2+ years in public accounting
• Strong understanding of federal and Ohio tax codes
• Experience with tax preparation software and accounting systems
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
