Job Description

Location: Warsaw, Poland
Hybrid model of work: 3 days in office, 2 remote per week

The Senior Specialist Programmer II is a delivery focused role responsible for programming deliverables with quality and timeliness, following established standards and processes. This position requires high technical skills and thorough industry knowledge to independently perform the programming tasks while using judgement about seeking guidance in complex situations. They can be responsible for leading the programming deliveries of clinical studies or small to medium sized projects and can lead cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement.

Typical Accountabilities

• Apply computer science and information technology for the development and maintenance of various complexity tools and related processes supporting the Biometrics analysis and innovation process.
• Support the development of programming standards/best practice or techniques to improve the quality, compliance and efficiency of deliverables for overall AZ programming community effectiveness.
• Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and objectives for own work or team.
• Support evaluations of Biometrics tools and efficiencies in collecting different types of data and production of analysis.
• Support for the design, development and maintenance of single point Biometrics processes and tools supporting analysis and innovation.
• Leads quality of own deliverables and completeness of applicable quality and process documentation.
• Seeks to acquire knowledge of computer science and/or information technology and or programming .
• Ensure computer system validation compliance for production tools for audit ready state.
• Leads small to medium sized projects and may lead cross-functional teams within improvement projects.

Essential

• BSc (or local equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Life or Social Sciences or equivalent experience.
• Experienced in developing efficiencies and improvements in programming utilities and tools.
• Extensive SAS programming expertise (and/or other programming languages).
• Project management experience.
• Understanding of Analysis and Reporting within Clinical Development.
• Understanding of Data Management within Clinical Development.
• Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills.
• Ability to apply programming expertise to problem solving and quality focused.
• Truth seeking rather than success seeking.
• The ability to proactively drive innovations.
• Embracing of peer review.
• Understanding of compliance principles preferably supported with an audit experience.

Desirable

• Understanding of other programming languages (e.g. R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, .NET, Python, Pearl) would be advantageous.
