Senior Solutions Architect (Shopify)

We started in London and have expanded to operations in Melbourne, Sydney, Sofia, and Trivandrum, with 200+ team members serving 45+ international brands. This role is based in Australia and works closely with local clients, alongside global specialists across the wider Tryzens team.

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect (Shopify) to define and lead scalable, secure, and commercially sound architectural solutions on the Shopify platform. This is a senior, client-facing role working across pre-sales, discovery, solution design, and delivery, supporting multiple engagements and helping grow our Shopify capability in ANZ.

What you’ll be doing

• Define, maintain, and govern Shopify architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures.
• Provide architectural leadership across pre-sales, discovery, and solution design for enterprise Shopify and Shopify Plus implementations.
• Lead technical discovery and translate business, commercial, and client requirements into practical solution approaches.
• Review and validate solution designs for scalability, security, performance, and integration best practice.
• Contribute to bids, proposals, and estimates to ensure solutions are delivery-ready and commercially viable.
• Provide architectural oversight across delivery engagements, including risk identification and mitigation.
• Design and oversee integrations between Shopify and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways, and third-party platforms.
• Build reusable architecture assets, frameworks, and accelerators to support repeatable delivery.
• Act as an internal Shopify SME, advising on capabilities, limitations, and best practice.
• Partner closely with Sales, Delivery, and the Global Shopify Practice Lead to shape the team and adapt global assets for local needs.

Requirements:
• 8–12+ years’ experience in digital commerce, architecture, or consulting.
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar (or equivalent industry experience).
• Evidence of continuous professional development in architecture, digital commerce, or cloud technologies.
• Strong background in solution architecture and/or senior technical leadership in digital commerce environments.
• Proven experience delivering Shopify / Shopify Plus solutions in an agency, consulting, or systems integrator setting.
• Demonstrated pre-sales experience, including discovery workshops, technical presentations, solution design, and proposal support.
• Solid technical delivery background (for example previous experience as a Shopify Senior Developer or Development Lead).
• Experience with Shopify customisations, app extensions, and theme-based customisations.
• Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, including CIO/CTO and executive-level client contacts.
• Comfortable operating in a multi-project, client-facing environment.
