Senior Solution Architect (m/f/d)

What the job is about

Sofico is expanding its product organization to deliver more scalable, reliable, and future-proof solutions for customers worldwide. As a Solution Architect, you will translate business needs into end-to-end solution designs, working closely with your team and key stakeholders to ensure fit with the product and platform direction.

This position requires a balance of technical expertise with strategic thinking and clear communication. You will guide delivery teams to implement secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that align with Sofico’s architectural principles and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining end-to-end solution designs for customer implementation projects and change requests, ensuring alignment with product strategy, platform capabilities, and architectural principles.

• Translating business requirements into solution designs covering functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, availability, compliance, ...).

• Facilitating solution design workshops with stakeholders to clarify scope, constraints, integration points, and trade-offs.

• Designing integration approaches across microservices, APIs, real-time events, and legacy systems.

• Defining and validating solution-level interfaces and contracts (API design, data models) and supporting consistent implementation.

• Documenting designs using architectural diagrams (e.g. sequence diagrams), decision records, and other architectural artifacts.

• Promoting reusable patterns and best practices within your team, while aligning with standards and frameworks.

• Collaborating with other architects and platform teams when solutions depend on shared services, identity and access management, integration frameworks, or foundational capabilities.

• Validating that the delivered solution (by the development team) is up to par with the defined (non)-functional requirements through tests, metrics, etc.

Your interests and skills

• Strong expertise in software architecture principles and design patterns.

• Expertise in modeling techniques (C4, sequence diagrams, information models…)

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices and integration strategies.

• Experience in Domain Driven Design is a plus.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL or Postgres), optional NoSQL databases and other structures (e.g. file-based JSON)

• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g. Java 21…) and frameworks (e.g. JavaEE, Quarkus).

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.

• Passion for technology trends and continuous learning.
