Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect (Java Stack) to lead the design and delivery of complex, enterprise-grade systems within a banking environment.

This role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and close collaboration with business and engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across digital banking platforms.

Contract: Permanent, salary in USD

Model: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Office Location: New Cairo

Key Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architectures for banking and fintech platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear technical designs and architectural decisions
• Lead system design across microservices-based architectures using Java and modern backend frameworks
• Guide engineering teams on best practices in system design, performance optimization, and secure coding
• Drive API-first architecture and integration strategies across internal systems and third-party services
• Ensure compliance with banking standards (security, data protection, auditability, high availability)
• Oversee cloud and on-prem architecture decisions, including hybrid deployment models where required
• Establish architectural governance, standards, and reusable design patterns
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to define CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure strategies
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks aligned with long-term platform strategy
• Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders, including product, risk, and compliance teams

Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong progression into architecture roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot / Spring Cloud) in large-scale systems
• Proven experience designing microservices architectures in production environments
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API design
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of banking or fintech systems, including payments, core banking integrations, or digital channels
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Familiarity with security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secure APIs)
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to operate at both technical and business levels

Nice to Have

• Experience with Open Banking / PSD2 / fintech integrations
• Exposure to core banking systems or payment gateways
• Knowledge of event sourcing / CQRS patterns
• Experience working in regulated environments with compliance frameworks
• Previous experience in architecture governance or enterprise architecture practices
