We value creative and driven individuals who love to own their products, and design and implement solutions that create a seamless experience for consumers and clients.  As we embark on the journey to enhance the Visa Direct platform, we are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer who will contribute to detailed design discussions, define comprehensive test strategies, and drive automated testing efforts to ensure the platform meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

The role involves extensive hands-on activities. Here are key job responsibilities:

• Understand the Payments industry and where Visa Direct fits in the ecosystem
• Understand the business initiatives and their importance to the growth of Visa Direct.
• Develop a good understanding of the Visa Direct technology platform.
• Collaborate with product owners and developers to define test scenarios and write good functional end-to-end tests.
• Question and think outside of acceptance criteria to identify exception scenarios, error states, etc.
• Be accountable for quality of software and defect management lifecycle.
• Attention to details and consistently exhibit a strong sense of ownership.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively within the team as well as across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to identify and manage risks at all stages of the project.
• Adherence to practices such as test coverage, open defect counts, continuous integration, code reviews, code quality and shift left practices.
• Stay up to date with new testing approaches, tools, technologies, and test strategies.
• Drive improvements in processes and frameworks across the team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.  ​

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 3-5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 3 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on Quality Assurance experience.

Strong understanding and practical experience in functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Proven ability to design, create, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

Solid experience in REST API testing, with working knowledge of performance testing fundamentals and security/authentication mechanisms.

Proficiency in Java (8+) and familiarity with relevant testing frameworks and technologies.

Experience working with automation testing tools such as RestAssured, TestNG, and JSON/XML parsers.

Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

Strong working knowledge of SQL, including writing complex queries and creating stored procedures.

Experience leveraging modern GenAI tools to improve testing efficiency and quality.

Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Working knowledge of Kafka, cloud-based application architectures, and distributed systems is a plus.

Experienced in Agile methodologies
