SIXGEN is seeking a Software Engineer to support the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing support of agile software development efforts focused on modernizing systems. This role requires applying advanced principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new approaches and solutions.

The ideal candidate will tackle highly complex challenges and deliver innovative, effective solutions. This position operates with significant autonomy and requires sound judgment in decision-making, as well as the ability to mentor or supervise team members in both technical and organizational competencies.

A bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience is required; however, equivalent professional experience or applicable certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree for certain roles.

Area of Focus Information:Concentrates on using both back-end and front-end languages to build complete solutions.

Area of Focus Skills:Java, JavaScript, Git, SQL, Python, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Web Front-End Development, Back-End Development, Client-Side, Server-Side Development, Integration, API Development, UI/UX, AngularJS, React, Vue.js, Empower, AWS tools, Microsoft C#, Angular 2

You Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 14+ years of experience with software engineering, or
18+ years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree.

• Experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks

• Experience with Java and JavaScript in a Linux environment

• Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications

• Experience using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions

• Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software applications using agile methods

• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Java libraries, including MongoDB, Spring, and OSGi

• Experience with Perl, Python, Lua, and NGINX

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment and balance long- and short-term taskings

At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this role is $250,000 - $295,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our compensation philosophy, which takes into account various factors including the candidate's relevant experience.
