Job Description
Our client is building the agentic infrastructure for the future of the world's largest financial institutions. They develop AI agents that handle millions of live, end-to-end interactions for Fortune 500 banks and insurers. With volume 3x-ing monthly, they are solving high-scale problems most startups never encounter: real-time voice AI, legacy banking integration, and complex US regulatory frameworks.
With over $1M revenue per employee and 12x YoY growth, this is a rare opportunity to join a high-traction, "AI-first" company where the product is already proven and the mission is to scale.
What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer, 95%+ of your time will be spent coding and building. You will own core product features—from backend systems and APIs to voice infrastructure—shipping code daily that goes live for global financial giants.
- Designing the layer that coordinates complex, real-time voice AI systems.
- Engineering low-level performance wins and scaling infrastructure to handle millions of interactions.
- Building "bank-grade" security frameworks for the world’s most demanding financial institutions.
- Working at the application layer to ship high-leverage features that users love.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- You’ve previously worked at a Series A (or similar) startup and navigated the chaos of hypergrowth.
- Strong backend fundamentals with the ability to own features end-to-end (design to production).
- Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python.
- Experience refactoring legacy infrastructure into sustainable, scalable architectures.
Nice to have (Highly Valued)
- Voice/Telephony: SIP, SRTP, WebRTC, or platforms like Telnyx, Twilio, and LiveKit.
- High-throughput distributed systems (1M+ daily transactions), PostgreSQL optimization, or Kubernetes.
- Real-time pipelines (ClickHouse, Kafka) or AWS infrastructure (SQS, containers).
- Compliance-conscious environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, Fintech).
- Production integrations with LLMs and voice AI.
How They Work
Our client values craft and ownership over process. While they use dailies and ticket grooming, the process remains light to keep the focus on building.
- They hire people whose judgment they trust and then get out of the way.
- You won't just pull from a backlog; you'll identify what needs to happen and build it.
- You will see a direct line between your code and enterprise revenue.
Ideal Archetypes
- Former Head of Eng or Tech Lead (Series A/B) who built core infra from scratch.
- A Senior Engineer who was among the first 10 hires at a success story and wants to do it again.
- Someone who has gone from zero to Series B/C and misses the high-autonomy phase.
- A Staff Engineer at a later-stage company who is tired of red tape and wants to move fast.
Benefits & Perks
- Comprehensive Healthcare.
- Weekly stipend for food and transportation.
- Gym membership and equipment budget (note: they have a "no noisy mechanical keyboard" rule in-office).
- Access to whatever tools you need to do your best work.
