We are on an exciting mission to build the best engagement and discovery experience for our users and win customer loyalty by serving the most important needs of customers' daily lives with a seamless, personalized and contextual experience.

 

Get to Know the Role

You will directly report to the engineer manager of the Consumer Experience Growth Team. As a significant and autonomous contributor to your team, you will be trusted with designing, delivering, and improving your team's software systems with high quality. You will take an active role in your projects as a team member and be involved from design to rollout, taking ownership of your work and always focusing on moving your projects forward. This is an onsite role based in Jakarta

 

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design and write in RxJava and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with mobile and backend engineers, designers, data scientists and product managers to build features
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
• Brainstorm ideas, identify problems, propose and implement solutions geared towards scale and performance
• Take full ownership of projects that are built to meet functional and non-functional requirements of our users and partners.
• Design, implement, instrument and deploy performant and reusable Android components
• Lead Collaboration with partners across teams and roles, to resolve ambiguous, multi dimensional business, legal, and product needs.
• Participate in interview loops to help Grab continue hiring top industry talent
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 4+ years of professional software development experience including at least 2 years of either Android development experience
• Solid computer science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• Experience building an end-to-end feature
• Experience running large-scale applications and global understanding of systems internals and tools like crash analytics, remote debugging and continuous integration.
• Have excellent english
• Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions, able to think about scalability and stability
• Understand about the CI/CD implementation
• Accountable and takes ownership of one's own work.
• Eager to learn, to take more responsibility and create impact on millions of users.
