Job Description
Your role at Ocumeda:
As a Senior Software Engineer - Medical AI (m/f/d) you take technical ownership of operating, scaling, and securing our AI-based medical devices in production. You ensure that regulatory requirements (MDR) are naturally embedded in how we build, deploy, and operate software — without slowing down product delivery.
• You work hands-on on engineering while closely collaborating with regulatory and product teams to keep our AI systems fast to iterate, reliable in production, and ready for international rollout.
• Own post-release operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our medical devices.
• Design and improve delivery, monitoring, and scaling for AI services.
• Shape engineering and development standards that keep delivery speed high while inherently supporting MDR compliance.
• Master the international product rollout, ensuring reliability, availability, and security.
• Work closely with our regulatory team to ensure compliance and smooth certifications.
• Work closely with our product team to maintain a strong product-first mindset.
What makes you a great fit:
• You have a very good degree in a technical (MINT) field of study.
• You have at least 5 years of professional experience with AI-based systems, with emphasis on delivery, operation, and reliability.
• You have hands-on experience with medical devices and MDR in a technical role.
• You have a clear product focus: you care about what ships, what runs, and what users experience.
• You are comfortable taking ownership and shaping processes in a scale-up environment.
What you can expect from us:
• Purpose-driven work with real impact: Contribute to one of Central Europe’s leading tele-ophthalmology platforms, improving access to eye care in a sustainable way.
• Stable growth & proven business model: Established B2B2C model with over 780 partner optician locations and 320,000+ screenings conducted.
• Interdisciplinary work environment: Collaboration with experienced colleagues from optometry, ophthalmology, software & AI development, and strategy consulting.

• Individual development budget: A personal learning budget you can use flexibly for trainings, courses, conferences, or other professional development activities.
• Flexible working models: Flexible working hours (Monday–Friday) and the option to work remotely / from home.
• Wellbeing & mental health: Maximum subsidy for your Wellpass membership.
• Collaboration & team culture: International team with strong collaboration and regular team events.
• Competitive compensation: Competitive salary aligned with your role and experience.
• Central workplace: Modern, dog-friendly office in the heart of Munich, conveniently located near the central station.
