What we’re looking for

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) to join the SurveyMonkey team. This is a role for a builder who cares about pixel perfection, user experience, and frontend architecture. You will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining the client-side applications that power our multi-tenant SaaS platforms.As part of the GFB Digital Team, you will own and elevate the high-performance interfaces driving our growth. You’ll ensure our frontend architecture scales elegantly while optimizing the user experience.

What you’ll be working on

• You will own frontend features from technical design and implementation to deployment, ensuring a seamless user experience and production-ready code.

• Design and develop scalable frontend applications using React or Angular, focusing on reusable patterns, state management, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate closely with the Design team to adopt, maintain, and enhance our shared Component Library. You will build reusable, accessible UI components that allow us to ship features faster and consistently with brand guidelines.

• Drive the modernization of legacy views and optimize frontend performance (improving Core Web Vitals, bundle sizes, and rendering speed).

• Improve frontend CI/CD pipelines, write comprehensive tests, and utilize observability tools to troubleshoot browser-side issues effectively.

• Foster a culture of technical excellence by conducting code reviews, establishing frontend best practices, and collaborating with other engineers to help the team reach its full potential.

We’d love to hear from people with

• 5 to 8 years of professional frontend development experience, with a track record of shipping complex, responsive web applications in a SaaS environment.

• Deep proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript. You have a strong command of either React or Angular, with the ability and flexibility to work within either.

• Strong experience building and maintaining Design Systems or Component Libraries. You know how to write CSS/SASS that scales.

• Solid experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs (REST and GraphQL) and handling complex state management challenges.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for building and deploying containerized frontend applications.

• Experience in automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress) and debugging, with the ability to troubleshoot complex, large-scale systems.

• Strong collaboration, communication and mentorship skills.

• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor to accelerate development workflows.

As such, this opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
