Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack, DevOps)

We are looking for passionate Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack and DevOps) to join us! This will be under contract employment till 31 March 2027. You will be responsible for product development, system integration and architecture design of applications used by public officers. Key products include the Service Management platform powered by ServiceNow, and other web and mobile applications used by the public officers, including integration of AI/LLM capabilities. This role encompasses the product development lifecycle and ensures alignment with product roadmaps to meet both functional and non-functional requirements, including resiliency, security, performance, maintainability and supportability.

Application Development:

• Lead product development, system integration and architecture design for applications used by public officers through partnership with product managers.
• Manage application development teams and ensure alignment with product roadmaps and requirements.
• Work closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical product roadmaps, including prototypes to validate business needs and proof of concepts.

Application Technical Support and Operations:

• Provide application operational and technical support for products in-scope
• Ensure product availability, resilience and security including L2 support in product incident management.

Technical Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

• Serve as the technical lead for in-house software development teams, coaching and managing them to deliver project outcomes effectively.
• Work regularly with engineers to engage in conversations regarding their performance, professional growth, offering constructive feedback, mentoring, and guidance as needed.

• Provide guidance and support to outsourced vendors, ensuring they meet project goals and deliverables.
• Direct and promote good software engineering practices within in-house and outsourced teams, focusing on DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Cloud Computing.
• Drive the adoption of SG TechStack and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while providing coaching to teams.
• Partner stakeholders and agencies to prioritize and manage roadmaps for delivering towards product vision incrementally and efficiently. 
• Establishing practices and tools to encourage a strong engineering culture and maximize engineering effectiveness and impact.
• Helping with recruitment of software engineers.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in application architecture, system integration, and data architecture
• Experience in ServiceNow platform scripting, deep knowledge of ITIL process and core modules like ITSM, CSM, ITOM etc.
• Experience in modern full-stack web application technologies; experience in modern front-end engineering like React (Typescript, Javascript), HTML, CSS, REST/SOAP, Nodejs(Typescript) are preferred.
• Proven track record in leading development teams and managing outsourced vendors.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, SRE, and Cloud Computing practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing prototypes for proof of concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Certifications and experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance tuning are also highly beneficial.
