Senior Software Engineer – Frontend & Platform

Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (Real-Time CDP), part of Adobe Digital Experience, helps organizations unify known and anonymous data into real-time customer profiles. But profiles alone are not enough.

RTCDP Collaboration takes this further.
We are building the engine that enables organizations to securely collaborate on data — activating shared insights while preserving governance, scalability, and performance at massive scale. How does data actually move? How is it processed? How do we orchestrate workflows across systems, clouds, and partners in real time? How do we ensure trust, performance, and resilience while handling billions of events?

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the UI team, you will not just implement features — you will shape how enterprise data collaboration happens inside the Adobe ecosystem. You will help design the systems that allow businesses to connect, activate shared insights, and ultimately deliver more meaningful customer experiences.

What you’ll do:

• Create the future Adobe products by building and maintaining complex and robust user interfaces for our customers

• Own the outcome by taking the initiative and ownership for the application design efforts while always optimizing for quality, scalability and performance.

• Raise the bar by focusing on continuously innovating and seeking novel methods for addressing complex technical distributed system challenges.

• Be genuine, serve as a mentor, foster a collaborative environment and encourage and guide team members by being honest and direct.

• Work with and across teams and domains to collaborate.

• Act with clarity and precision, ensuring projects are driven with a strong sense of ownership and direction.

What you will need to succeed:

Strong Frontend Engineering Foundation

• 7–10+ years building complex, data-driven web applications

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript

• Solid experience with React ecosystem (hooks, state management, performance optimization)

• Experience with GraphQL and/or REST APIs

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, accessibility

• Experience building scalable component architectures and performant UIs

Testing & Engineering Quality

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar E2E frameworks

• Experience with Jest / React Testing Library or similar tools

• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with frontend test strategies across unit, integration, and E2E layers

Backend & Control Plane Awareness

• Experience consuming and reasoning about REST and/or GraphQL APIs

• Familiarity with backend development concepts (Node.js, Java, or similar is a plus)

• Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases

• Understanding of data models and metadata-driven systems

• Ability to make frontend decisions informed by backend constraints

• Comfortable participating in cross-layer architectural discussions

CI/CD & Build Systems Familiarity

• Experience working with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

• Familiarity with frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.)

• Comfortable debugging pipeline or deployment issues

• Experience integrating automated tests into build and release workflows

AI & Engineering Productivity

• Experience using AI tools to improve development workflows

• Interest in integrating AI-driven automation into testing, reviews, or documentation

• Familiarity with LLM-based APIs or agentic workflows is a plus

• Practical mindset toward improving engineering velocity with AI

Computer Science & System Thinking

• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals

• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and complexity

• Ability to reason about performance, scalability, and trade-offs

• Strong critical thinking and optimization mindset

Great to Have

• Experience working in microservices architectures

• Exposure to cloud-native environments (AWS/Azure)

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments

• Familiarity with distributed systems environments
