About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who cuts through complexity, ships fast, and builds things customers truly love. At dbt Labs, you’ll have the freedom and responsibility to own entire slices of the product, move with speed, and ship features used by thousands of data teams. If you’re the type of engineer who can see the big picture, sweat the details, and still move with agility, you’ll fit right in. We are actively building a visual data modeling tool that empowers thousands of developers with our new Fusion engine.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Take ideas from zero → production with speed, autonomy, and precision

• Ship features that directly impact how thousands of data teams work every day

• Manage trade-offs, priorities, and deliverables by applying your experience in bringing projects to successful completion

• Move fast, break down walls, and cut through bloat to deliver real value

• Collaborate with product and design, and are always are pushing things forward

You are a good fit if you have:

• A track record of building and shipping fullstack products that made a dent in customer outcomes

• The ability to weigh tradeoffs, bias towards action, and take ownership over what you build

• Strong fullstack skills (React/TypeScript, Node, Python, SQL) and comfort owning the whole stack

• Comfort working async with a fully-remote, distributed team

You’ll have an edge if you have:

• Have worked on an application similar to this one, such as a visual design tool, an analytics application, or an IDE

• Have experience scaling applications, especially those with runtimes in Kubernetes and AWS

• Have experience working in an async environment and distributed company

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $158,000 - $226,000 USD
