Job Summary: As a Senior Software Development Engineer Test I, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality of user experiences for one of the largest entertainment platforms. You'll contribute to building robust automation systems and test coverage, enabling reliable and frequent releases. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help scale quality practices that impact 300+ million users across devices.
About the Team: The QE team builds innovative test solutions that accelerate our development lifecycle while maintaining high-quality standards. We work across apps, services, and platforms—creating scalable test automation frameworks, simulators, and data engines. We partner closely with engineering, DevOps, and QA to shift left and ensure seamless user experiences at scale.
Key Responsibilities::
• Contribute to the design and development of test automation frameworks for client or service layers
• Build and maintain test cases across mobile, web, and living room devices, ensuring high-quality delivery
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and UX to understand feature scope and embed quality early in the lifecycle
• Own the execution and reporting of automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines
• Debug and analyze failures in automation or in production-like environments
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve test efficiency and reliability
Skills and Attributes to Success:
• Strong programming fundamentals and test automation skills (e.g., Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, JavaScript-based frameworks)
• Experience testing APIs, mobile/web apps, or services in a fast-paced product environment
• Familiarity with REST APIs, request/response structures, and basic debugging tools
• Exposure to version control, Linux commands, shell scripting, and CI tools like Jenkins
• Passion for quality, problem solving, and performance under scale
• Experience with testing best practices like mocking, assertions, assertions, and shift-left testing
• Exposure to building or maintaining test infrastructure or tools
• Experience with backend automation or microservices testing
• Familiarity with deployment models (blue/green, canary) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
• Understanding of app release cycles on Google Play or App Store
Preferred education and experience::
• B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience in software development or test automation
