Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - Java, Appium, Android

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to lead quality engineering across Ivanti’s Android & iOS products. You’ll design, develop, and maintain test automation solutions and collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to shape how we deliver secure, seamless mobile experiences to customers everywhere.

What you’ll do:

• Lead test strategy and planning across complex mobile feature areas (iOS/Android)

• Architect and maintain robust automation frameworks using Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Java

• Design and execute diverse test suites: functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, system

• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and device clouds (BrowserStack, Firebase Test Lab, in-house)

• Drive testing for MDM workflows, device compliance, certificate management, and provisioning

• Develop and run unit, API, smoke, and end-to-end tests across mobile stacks

• Maintain and enhance test case repositories (TestRail or equivalent)

• Standardize test data management and mobile environment configuration

• Review PRs and automation code, mentor peers, and enforce coding best practices

• Support and coach junior and mid-level SDETs

• Coordinate triage of complex defects with dev, product, and release teams

• Advocate for quality metrics and actively reduce test flakiness and false positives

• Collaborate with DevOps/infrastructure teams on simulators, devices, and cloud setups

• Stay updated on Apple/Google testing frameworks, OS changes, and enterprise security trends

What you will bring:

• 5+ years in software testing or SDET roles

• Advanced programming skills: Java, Kotlin, Python

• Deep expertise with Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Robot Framework

• Solid familiarity with ADB, Android Build System, mobile debugging tools

• Experience building/extending test frameworks and reusable automation libraries

• Skilled in TestRail, Jira, ADO, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise

• Proficient with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, XCTest), mocking libraries

• Strong grasp of mobile app architecture, REST APIs, JSON, security testing

• Hands-on experience planning & executing large releases across device matrices

• Experience with certificate-based authentication, VPN, identity providers, MTD

• Performance profiling/crash analysis (Instruments, Crashlytics, Charles Proxy)

• Practice in shift-left testing & TDD/BDD workflows

• (Nice to have) Contributions to automation tooling or open-source libraries
