This is an unmissable opportunity for a dedicated applicant to join our Data & Feed’s Derived Content team, responsible for delivering and maintaining our cloud-based Analytics Self-Service Platform enabling the company’s “Analytics as Content” capability.
Through this public cloud framework, the team enables a number of Content and Data scientist teams that implements a large scope of analytics, covering all financial assets (commodities, Fixed Income, Equity, Treasury and so forth). These analytics continuously run as services on Azure and AWS cloud and generate “Analytics data” to our Realtime and non-Realtime Database of Records. That content is then consumed by a wide number of LSEG customers applications such as for example Front Office users (Workspace) or Risk Managers.
Key responsibilities:
• Own Core applications source code across the full lifecycle: invent, implementation, testing, deployment, optimisations, observability, and support.
• leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for handling and optimizing Cloud resources usage, primarily Azure functions and Azure AKS.
• Use and Collaborate to Containerization Solutions: compose, support and optimisations (AKS/EKS)
• Leverage the Kubernetes Java client where needed for cluster interactions and automation.
• Collaborate to the Azure migration plan (function triggers, configuration, identity/auth, networking, monitoring) and help build parity with current AWS architecture.
• Write robust unit and integration tests and uphold code quality with SpotBugs and Jacoco coverage.
• Work with build tooling (Maven, Shade, Surefire, Compiler, Build Helper, Swagger plugin, License verifier) and keep artifacts lean for serverless constraints.
• Ensure reliability and observability with structured logging (SLF4J + Log4j2) and pragmatic error handling; chip in to operational runbooks.

Experience required:
Must Have:
• Professional should have 8–12 years of total IT experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience with shown success & excellency in building Java backend applications and APIs on Azure/AWS clouds.
• Language & runtime : Java (11/17+), Maven, Azure Functions (Java).
• API & frameworks: Bean Validation (Hibernate Validator), Jackson (annotations/databind/JSR‑310), Multipart & JSON media, HK2 injection. Apache Flink.
• OpenAPI/Codegen: swagger‑maven‑plugin & swagger‑jaxrs2 for model/API generation.
• HTTP client: OkHttp (selected for small footprint/performance in Azure Function).
• Azure SDKs: Azure Functions, AKS, Cosmo DB, API Gateway, ACR…
• Containerization: Docker (image creation, optimization, and deployment).
• Kubernetes: client‑java (api/extended/proto).
• Testing & quality: JUnit 5, Mockito (junit‑jupiter + inline), Jersey test framework (core + in‑memory), Guava (test scope), SpotBugs, Jacoco.
• Logging: SLF4J, Log4j2 (core/api + slf4j‑impl), aws‑lambda‑java‑log4j2.
• Build/packaging: Maven Compiler, Surefire, Shade (fat jar), Build Helper; license verification plugin.
• Revision control: Git and GitLab (branching, merge requests, code reviews).
• Cloud resources provisioning using IaC and Terraform Enterprise or Community edition.
• CI/CD solutions using Jenkins/Gitlab CI.
• Logging, Alerting and Monitoring solutions (BigPanda, Datadog, etc…).
• hands-on experience in Linux OS and networking.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science.
Advantage, nice to have:
• AWS Lambda, EKS.
• Azure/AWS Developer Certification.
• Azure/AWS Architecture Certification.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• API & frameworks: JAX‑RS (Jersey).
• hands-on experience or exposure in Kubernetes and Helm.
