PeopleCert is looking for a talented Senior Software Developer to join our Software Development Team, and design and develop applications that support and manage our certification exams, conducted 24/7 worldwide. Our applications are web-based, built on cloud (Azure) web services and we are using various technologies, including JavaScript, Redis, OAuth, .NET, SQL Server, as well as iOS and Android native app development and video streaming.

As a Senior Software Developer, your tasks will include the following:

• Software Development and Maintenance: Actively participate in the execution of the full software development lifecycle for company products. Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using advanced tools and ensure comprehensive documentation in line with PeopleCert standards.​
• Project Leadership: Take a proactive role in project planning and design. Monitor project progress closely, provide strategic guidance, and report daily on the status of tasks to both management and project management teams via Wrike.​
• Advanced Quality Assurance: Oversee unit testing and preliminary debugging to ensure optimal functionality. Act as a primary liaison with the Software Quality Assurance team to facilitate timely enhancements and resolution of issues.​
• Technological Innovation and Mentorship: Research and integrate state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and solutions. Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate team capabilities​
• Team Collaboration and Communication: Effectively collaborate in a team setting, liaising effectively with other team members to achieve optimal results.​
• Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures as per the PeopleCert Integrated Management System.​
• Cultural Ambassador: Champion the company’s values of "Quality, Passion, Integrity, Innovation", promoting a culture of excellence and ethical behavior at all times.

What we look for:

• Educational Background: University Degree in Informatics Technology or a related field. A Postgraduate Degree is preferred.
• Professional Experience: Extensive experience in software development (5+ years), with proven experience in a (project) leadership role.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Object-Oriented Programming, with advanced skills in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript. Deep understanding of frameworks and design patterns.
• Leadership in Agile Environments: Extensive experience in leading Agile projects, preferably SCRUM, demonstrating strong project management skills.
• Analytical skills: Proactive thinking with the aim to drive growth and business success​, while assessing and solving complex problems.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English, with C2 level certification highly regarded (e.g., LanguageCert C2 LTE, C2 IESOL).
• Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to mentor teams effectively.
• Personal Attributes: Highly organized, self-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

• A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

• Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)

• HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

• Financial background check

• Employment reference check

• If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
