Senior Shopify Plus Developer - Full-Stack

As we modernize our digital ecosystem, including our Shopify based eCommerce platform, we’re seeking a skilled Senior Shopify Plus Developer - Full Stack to join our growing engineering team.

Sunlighten's Senior Shopify Plus Developer - Full Stack will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our Shopify storefronts, ensuring a seamless, modern, and performant online shopping experience. This role requires strong technical expertise in Shopify Plus, including Liquid, JavaScript, and advanced theme customization and checkout extensibility, as well as a collaborative mindset for working with designers, marketers, and backend engineers.

The ideal candidate has experience working within staging, QA, and production environments, understands the importance of version control, QA workflows, and release management, and can integrate Shopify Plus with external systems such as Salesforce CRM, ERP, and fulfillment platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize Shopify Plus storefronts, translating Figma designs into high-quality, accessible, responsive, and performant experiences.
• Build and maintain custom templates, sections, and reusable components using Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Optimize front-end performance, including site speed, Core Web Vitals, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate with marketing, creative, and eCommerce teams to implement UX improvements, performance optimizations, and conversion enhancements.
• Own Shopify Plus checkout logic and operational flows, including pricing, promotions, cart behavior, shipping, payment conditions, and multi-store automation via Shopify Flow.
• Design, build, and maintain integrations with enterprise systems (Salesforce CRM, NetSuite ERP, analytics, fulfillment platforms) using GraphQL, REST, and webhooks; ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Support global commerce initiatives, including multi-currency pricing, localization, and international storefront configurations.
• Manage staging, QA, and production environments using Git workflows, code reviews, and structured release management.
• Other duties as assigned and discussed.

Requirements:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Shopify Plus storefronts.
• Strong proficiency with Liquid, Shopify Plus theme architecture, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Solid experience working with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL), including checkout customizations and advanced configurations.
• Proven ability to integrate Shopify with Salesforce CRM or similar enterprise platforms.
• Experience managing staging, QA, and production environments using Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of modern front-end development, performance optimization, and site reliability.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-growth, DTC eCommerce environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Headless Shopify setups (Hydrogen, Next.js, or similar frameworks).
• Experience integrating Shopify to ERP or fulfillment systems.
• Experience supporting international storefronts, including multi-currency pricing, and localization.
• Familiarity with analytics and attribution tools (GA4, GTM, A/B testing platforms).
• Interest in wellness technology or consumer retail brands.
