Role Overview:
As a result of our continued growth, we are looking for experienced Accountants based in the Western Cape to support our London finance team. You will specialise in service‑charge accounting (levy/property) for residential/commercial blocks (UK model) but operating from South Africa. You’ll work with our Service‑Charge Account Managers, Credit Controllers, Accounts Admins and Property Managers, ensuring smooth financial management of our client portfolios. We’ll provide full training on our UK‑style processes- if you’ve got strong property/levy accounting experience and want to step up, this is your chance.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accruals, prepayments and trial balances for levy/service‑charge funds
Prepare annual accounts (leasehold / company accounts) in line with international standards
Liaise with external auditors and accountants
Engage with clients and property managers to resolve queries and ensure accurate cost allocation of levies/contributions
Manage year‑end surplus/deficit for lessee/owner accounts
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor levy and ground‑demand accounts
Oversee accounts payable/receivable and monitor unpaid supplier invoices
Support credit control function with levy arrears collection
Draft long‑term budgets (including 10‑year plans) for schemes
Process supplier invoices and monitor outstanding payments
Requirements:
Degree level qualification (Accounting/Finance)
Property accounting experience -ideally with sectional title or body corporate levies/contributions in South Africa
Strong technical accounting skills (Excel/Word proficiency)
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines
Based in the Western Cape (Stellenbosch / Cape Town region) with ability to attend occasional in‑person meetings
Comfortable operating remotely and working across time zones
What We Offer:
Salary: R25,000 – R27,000 per month (depending on experience)
15 days annual leave + South African public holidays
Monday‑Friday, 09:00 – 18:00 (SA time)
Remote working arrangement with occasional in‑person sessions in Stellenbosch
Full training provided -you’ll gain exposure to UK property‑management finance practices and broaden your experience
Please Note:
Applicants must be based in the Cape Town/Winelands area (easy commute to Stellenbosch)
A stable internet connection is essential (especially during load‑shedding)
