About Your Role
CMTS is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support aviation, transportation, and public infrastructure capital improvement projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) Region. This role will be responsible for leading project scheduling activities associated with complex capital improvement programs while supporting project delivery through schedule development, schedule analysis, forecasting, progress monitoring, and schedule risk mitigation.
The Senior Scheduler will work closely with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, project controls teams, and client representatives to help ensure schedules are properly developed, maintained, and aligned with project objectives, operational requirements, contractual milestones, and program delivery strategies.
Projects may include airport terminal improvements, transportation infrastructure modernization, utility upgrades, transit facilities, roadway improvements, vertical construction, and other public sector capital improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, or related field preferred

An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant scheduling experience
What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done
7–15 years of scheduling experience supporting aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or public sector capital improvement projects
• Extensive knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and project controls methodologies
• Advanced experience developing and maintaining baseline schedules, integrated master schedules, recovery schedules, and milestone schedules
• Experience reviewing contractor schedules, schedule updates, schedule narratives, and time impact analyses
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, phasing strategies, procurement activities, and project delivery methods
• Ability to analyze project performance and identify schedule risks, delays, critical path impacts, and mitigation opportunities
• Experience supporting projects within active operational environments preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, schedule narratives, and presentations
• Ability to lead schedule review meetings and coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, consultants, and client representatives
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in fast-paced environments
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Experience with scheduling analytics tools, project controls systems, and reporting platforms preferred
• Ability to travel throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia project locations as required

What You’ll Do
Lead development, maintenance, and management of project schedules for aviation, transportation, and infrastructure capital improvement projects
• Develop baseline schedules, integrated master schedules, phasing schedules, milestone schedules, and recovery schedules to support successful project delivery
• Monitor project progress and analyze schedule performance against baseline schedules and contractual milestones
• Review contractor schedule submissions, monthly updates, schedule narratives, and time impact analyses for accuracy, sequencing, logic, and compliance
• Identify schedule risks, delays, conflicts, and critical path impacts while developing mitigation and recovery recommendations
• Coordinate scheduling activities with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives
• Prepare executive-level schedule reports, dashboards, analytics, narratives, and presentations for leadership and client review
• Lead schedule review meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, and stakeholder discussions
• Support project controls activities including forecasting, progress measurement, earned value analysis, change management, and performance reporting
• Analyze construction sequencing, procurement timelines, operational constraints, and phasing strategies to support efficient project delivery
• Assist with evaluation of contractor claims, schedule impacts, and change order requests associated with project scheduling activities
• Maintain schedule documentation, logs, updates, assumptions, and historical records in accordance with project requirements and reporting standards
• Support implementation of scheduling standards, project controls procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor junior schedulers and support operational excellence across project controls and scheduling teams
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Contribute to strategic planning efforts and overall program delivery initiatives across CMTS project teams
