Senior SAP IS-U Customizing Consultant - EDM & Device Management

About your role

You will play a pivotal role in designing and configuring SAP IS-U processes for EDM and Device Management in a greenfield SAP Cloud for Utilities environment. This includes working with smart metering infrastructure, interval data processing, and device lifecycle management. You will collaborate with solution architects, developers, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions aligned with regulatory and market demands.

• Have experience in gathering, validating, synthesizing, documenting, and communicating data and information for a range of audiences

• Have excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills in German (C2 proficiency) and English (C2 proficiency), project-related mobility/willingness to travel

• Lead customizing and configuration of SAP IS-U modules for:

• EDM: Interval data capture, profile management, settlement, forecasting

• Device Management: Installation/removal, meter reading, smart device integration

• Design and implement cloud-native utilities processes using SAP Cloud for Utilities architecture

• Evaluate user stories, backlog grooming, and sprint delivery - collaborate with Product Owner and impact on reducing complexity.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Billing, Market Communication, ABAP, Integration) to ensure seamless process orchestration

• Conduct client workshops, gather requirements, and translate them into functional designs

• Support end-to-end Meter-to-Cash process flows with a focus on data accuracy and automation

• Ensure compliance with energy market regulations and smart metering standards

• Provide guidance during testing, cutover, and hypercare phases

• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal capability building

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP consulting experience, with 5+ years in IS-U EDM and Device Management

• Proven experience in SAP IS-U customizing for utilities clients (DSO or supplier)

• Strong understanding of MaCo Cloud, MPM, and IDEX for market communication Including MSCONS, SAP IS-U data model, ABAP customizing, and sandbox development.

• Familiarity with smart metering protocols and device integration standards

• Experience with SAP Cloud for Utilities or S/4HANA Utilities (greenfield preferred)

• Experience with Migrations (mapping, transformation)

• Ability to debug and collaborate with ABAP developers

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certification in IS-U or S/4HANA Utilities

• Experience with SAP BTP, Fiori, and cloud integration tools

• Exposure to German regulatory frameworks

• Experience in leading workstreams or managing functional teams
