ABOUT THE ROLE

You will build the SAP consulting team in Lithuania, design and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions mainly for the manufacturing and Automotive industry:

• You design and implement technical SAP S/4HANA in-app and side-by-side solutions for finance or logistics in demanding interface projects and transformations at major multinational customers in the automotive & manufacturing environment.

• You design and expand processes & applications based on SAP for our customers.

• You create technical development specifications, implement it in the SAP system and document.

• You support test activities in the project as well as training of the users.

You will be seamlessly embedded in the SAP DACH organization with 4 competence centers and their experienced and collaborative consultants. You will report to the team Lead for SAP Lithuania, which belongs functionally to the portfolio “SAP Transformation” and work in close alignment with the SAP consulting organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs, including custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW) in SAP S/4HANA environments.

• Lead the migration of custom code from ECC SOH system to S/4HANA, applying technical remediation and clean core frameworks to ensure code compatibility and optimized performance.

• Leverage S/4HANA development experience to implement scalable solutions, including OData development using CDS and AMDP, and workflow configuration, support, and debugging.

• Adhere to the "clean core" principle by decoupling custom code from SAP’s digital core, using released APIs, in-app extensibility, and key user extensibility options to ensure smooth upgrades and maintenance.

• Apply SAP’s 3-Tier Extensibility model, working with RAP (Restful ABAP Programming) and CAP (Cloud Application Programming) models to build robust, scalable, cloud-based solutions using SAP BTP.

• Develop user-friendly interfaces using SAP Fiori/UI5 and enhance SAP applications using modern ABAP techniques, including CDS views, AMDP, Native SQL, ADBC, External Views, Text Search, and ALV on HANA.

• Collaborate with functional teams to gather requirements, create technical specifications, and implement SAP solutions aligned with business needs.

• Conduct code reviews and ensure consistency to SAP standard methodologies, using SAP quality tools like SAP ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) for code inspection, optimization, and vulnerability detection.

• Leverage SAP BTP Build, SAP Business Application Studio and Joule to design, develop, extend, and optimize business processes.

• Implement SAP Fiori/UI5 applications and leverage SAP Build to enhance user experiences and improve application functionality.

• Maintain user documentation for all developed SAP solutions and ensure a smooth handover for future maintenance.

• Stay updated with SAP’s newest technologies, methodologies, and standard processes, ensuring ongoing alignment with evolving industry standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Completed degree in business administration, business informatics or similar.

• Fluent English skills, German skills are beneficial.

• 5+ years of in-depth experience in SAP development, requirement gathering, technical analysis, estimation, design, driving SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades and migration projects.

• Extensive knowledge of SAP development - ABAP on HANA, ABAP OO, ideally Test-Driven Development and confident in using the ABAP development tools (Eclipse, SAP GUI, WebIDE, SAP Business Application Studio).

• Experience in Fiori/UI5, Core Data Services (CDSViews), ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) as well as in interface technologies such as ABAP Proxy, WebServices, OData, IDoc, Batch and AIF.

• Experience with Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for SAP-specific development projects, ensuring efficient delivery of ABAP enhancements and customizations in an iterative, collaborative environment is an advantage.

• High customer orientation, service attitude and business acumen.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively collaborating with functional teams, gathering business requirements, and documenting technical specifications and solutions in a clear and concise manner.

• High attention to detail in writing, debugging, and maintaining ABAP code, ensuring consistency to standard methodologies, clean core principles, and compliance with SAP development standards.

• Ability to adapt to evolving SAP technologies and project requirements, staying up to date with the latest advancements like RAP, CAP, and SAP Fiori while meeting dynamic business needs in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to solve issues in complex SAP systems, identify root causes, and provide effective technical solutions that align with business processes.

• Collaborative approach, working closely with multi-functional teams, SAP consultants, and customers to ensure the successful delivery of custom ABAP solutions that meet organizational goals.

• We expect travel readiness and strong communication skills with different stakeholders.

• Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
