Senior SAP Data Engineer – SAP Data Analytics (SAP Datasphere, SAP BW & SAC)

Job Description:

 

We are seeking a seasoned SAP Data Analytics Lead / Senior Consultant to drive the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics solutions leveraging SAP Datasphere, SAP BW, and SAP Analytics Cloud. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical and functional expert, providing architectural guidance, leading project teams, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders to enable enterprise-wide data-driven insights.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Solution Development & Implementation:

·       Lead the end-to-end development of data models, data flows, and analytics solutions primarily in SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

·       Build and maintain data pipelines and semantic models integrating SAP and non-SAP sources.

·       Implement and enhance SAC stories, dashboards, planning models, and analytical applications based on business requirements.

·       Work closely with the Architecture and Development Manager to align implementations with defined architecture and governance standards.

 

Data Integration & Modeling:

·       Develop and optimize data integration workflows between SAP Datasphere, SAP BW, and S/4HANA systems.

·       Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and performance through efficient ETL and transformation logic.

·       Support data harmonization, cleansing, and preparation for analytics consumption.

 

Performance Optimization & Quality:

·       Perform system performance tuning and troubleshoot issues in Datasphere and SAC environments.

·       Implement best practices for data modeling, caching, and query performance optimization.

·       Conduct unit testing, validation, and documentation of developed solutions.

 

Collaboration & Support:

·       Collaborate with functional teams, architects, and business users to understand reporting and analytics requirements.

·       Provide technical support, enhancements, and continuous improvement to existing SAP analytics solutions.

·       Support system upgrades, migrations, and feature rollouts within SAP Datasphere and SAC.

 

Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing:

·       Mentor junior consultants and support their technical development.

·       Share best practices and contribute to internal knowledge management and standards documentation.

Qualifications:

 

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.

·       12–15 years of total experience in SAP Data Analytics, with hands-on expertise in SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

·       Proven experience in SAP BW/4HANA and BW on HANA, including data modeling, ETL design, and architecture.

·       3+ years of implementation experience in SAP Datasphere and SAC, including at least 2–3 full life cycle projects focused on planning and reporting solutions.

·       Strong proficiency in ABAP programming, with experience in user exits, BADIs, and enhancements for data extraction and transformation.

·       Expertise in SAP Datasphere data modeling, data flow design, and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.

·       Deep understanding of SAC story design, analytical applications, and data actions.

·       Hands-on exposure to advanced analytics capabilities such as Predictive Analytics, SAC Smart Features, and Application Designer (preferred).

·       Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize system performance, and deliver high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.

·       Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and mentor team members in a cross-functional environment.

·       SAP Certifications in SAP BDC, SAP Datasphere, SAC, or BW/4HANA are highly desirable.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

•         Experience with SAP Embedded Analytics and integration with S/4HANA.

•         Strong sense of UX and design principles for creating intuitive and impactful data visualizations in SAC.

•         German language proficiency (spoken) is an added advantage for global project collaboration.

•         Understanding of machine learning or AI-driven analytics tools to enhance predictive insights within SAC or Datasphere.

•         Certifications in SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) preferred.

•         Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments, with familiarity in sprint-based delivery

•         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen with a focus on delivering measurable business value.

•         Ability to mentor, guide, and upskill junior team members and support overall team capability development.

•         Demonstrated ability to collaborate across technical and business teams in global delivery environments.
