(Senior) SAP / ABAP Developer for AI Banking Solutions

Job location

In this position, you have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Serbia, or you can choose to work from our offices in Belgrade (Airport City), depending on your preference.

A new team member should be Serbia-based, but we are also open to hear from candidates willing to relocate to Serbia.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced ABAP Developer to join our product development team and take on a wide variety of stimulating responsibilities. You will work on cutting-edge banking software solutions, contribute to our product portfolio, and collaborate closely with colleagues who drive innovation in the AI domain.

While no prior AI development expertise is required, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in AI and its applications in banking technology – an opportunity to learn, grow, and help shape how our products evolve with AI capabilities.

Your responsibilities:

• Designing, creating, and extending innovative banking solutions built on ABAP and further SAP technologies

• Collaborating with product managers and AI experts to integrate and adapt modern capabilities into our solutions

• Translating business requirements into advanced software design and modern architectures

• Developing high-quality standard software in an agile environment together with our international banking customers

• Ensuring robust testing and QA to deliver top product quality

• Supporting customers in software adoption by delivering customer-centric services

Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years of ABAP / SAP development

• Proven technical proficiency in relevant technologies (such as OData/REST, CDS/HANA, Restful Application Programming, HANA DB)

• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate these into software designs and architectures

• Curiosity and openness to explore how AI can enhance SAP Fioneer products – no prior AI development skills required

• Prior experience in agile setups and methodologies

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken

• A start-up mindset with dedication to learning, collaboration, and service orientation

Nice to have

• Experience with banking products and processes (e.g., transactional banking, payments/cards, regulatory reporting)

• Knowledge of SAP banking products (Deposits Management, Payment Engine, Banking Services, Transactional Banking)

• Additional qualifications, such as:

• Full-stack experience with HTML 5, SAP UI5 & FIORI Application design

• Strong QA/test automation skills

• Familiarity with SAP code shipping methodologies

• An academic degree in computer science, information technology, (software) engineering, or equivalent
