About the Role:

The Senior Researcher drives customer understanding across Payoneer’s ecosystem, from SMB merchants to global enterprises. This role leads multi-workstream, cross-functional research that informs product strategy, go-to-market plans, and company priorities. The researcher translates complex customer needs into actionable insights that shape business outcomes and strengthen Payoneer’s position as a customer-first fintech leader.

What you’ll be spending your time on

• Research Leadership and Strategy: Leads two to three research workstreams within a product or customer domain, extending into adjacent areas such as onboarding, FX, or compliance. Defines and drives the research agenda for a product line or region, aligning insights with company goals and customer metrics. Identifies ambiguous customer problems and brings clarity through structured, evidence-based research.

• Methodological Excellence: Designs and executes research using mixed methods including usability testing, generative discovery, segmentation, conjoint analysis, and surveys. Maintains methodological rigor and ethical standards in research that informs product, marketing, and policy decisions. Synthesizes multi-country, multi-segment data into clear insights that guide strategic direction.

• Cross-Functional Influence: Partners with Product, Design, Marketing, Data, and R&D teams to integrate research into decision-making. Communicates findings through clear, engaging storytelling that influences prioritisation and product direction. Advocates for customer needs across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with Payoneer’s research and design principles.

• Impact and Outcomes: Delivers two to three strategic studies each year that shape product, regional, or go-to-market decisions. Achieves high adoption of insights across teams and drives measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, retention, or activation. Demonstrates direct business impact through new market entries, product launches, or pricing strategy influenced by research.

• Mentorship and Team Growth: Coaches junior researchers, reviews research plans, and strengthens the team’s analytical and storytelling capability. Participates in hiring and evaluation of research talent. Builds an inclusive, collaborative environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of experience as a Researcher, ideally in fintech or monetisation domains.

• Strong understanding of how research informs decisions across product, marketing, and R&D in a fintech or B2B context.

• Proven experience in analytical product research work.

• Understanding of customer journeys and PLG techniques — able to contribute to conversion and engagement strategies.

• Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills.

• Ability to communicate complex insights simply and persuasively to senior stakeholders.

• High business acumen and proven influence on priorities and key performance indicators.

• Ability to manage conflict and maintain trusted relationships across functions.
