The team you will be part of
The Senior R2R Accountant will be a key member of Intrepid's Finance Center of Excellence (COE), providing specialized Record-to-Report (R2R) accounting services with primary focus on Thailand operations under the supervision of current R2R supervisors. This role is responsible for managing general ledger reconciliations, month-end close processes, financial reporting, and ensuring accounting accuracy across multiple business models including retail, consignment, store management, and e-commerce operations.
The position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams across Intrepid's multi-country operations (Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines) and major brand portfolios.
The role, as a part of SSC (Centre of Excellence)
General Ledger Management & Reconciliation (35%)
Perform monthly GL account reconciliations for Thailand entity, including bank accounts, intercompany balances, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts
Ensure all reconciling items are properly investigated, resolved, and documented with supporting evidence
Maintain reconciliation trackers and ensure timely completion per month-end close calendar
Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies by working with AR, AP, Data Automation, and operations teams
Review and validate journal entries posted by other teams (AR, AP, Data Automation) to ensure proper account coding and supporting documentation
Month-End & Year-End Close (30%)
Execute month-end and year-end close activities for Thailand operations, ensuring adherence to tight deadlines
Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjusting journal entries
Perform variance analysis on key GL accounts and prepare explanations for significant movements
Review Trial Balance and ensure all accounts are properly classified and balanced before financial reporting
Coordinate with R2R supervisors to ensure all closing checklist items are completed and signed off
Support preparation of consolidation packages and intercompany reconciliation schedules
Fixed Assets & Depreciation Management (15%)
Maintain fixed asset register in NetSuite for Thailand operations
Review and process fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments
Calculate and post monthly depreciation/amortization entries
Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger to GL and investigate variances
Support annual physical verification of fixed assets and resolve discrepancies
Financial Reporting & Compliance (10%)
Support preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements for Thailand
Ensure accounting treatments comply with Thai accounting standards, group policies, and internal controls
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit purposes (internal and external audits)
Respond to audit queries and provide requested documentation in a timely manner
Process Improvement & System Support (10%)
Identify opportunities to improve R2R processes and enhance efficiency through automation
Collaborate with Data Automation team to optimize automated booking processes and reduce manual interventions
Support NetSuite system enhancements and testing for R2R-related functionality
Maintain and update R2R standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation
What we are looking for - the ideal profile
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred
Experience
Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger, reconciliations, and financial close processes
Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency accounting environments preferred
Prior experience in shared services center (SSC) or center of excellence (COE) environment is a strong advantage
Experience with retail, e-commerce, or distribution industries is advantageous
Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/Thai GAAP) and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite experience highly preferred)
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data analysis
Experience with Google Sheets and collaborative cloud-based tools
Familiarity with automated accounting workflows and process automation concepts
Language Requirements
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) - Business level required
Thai language proficiency is required for supporting Thailand operations
Vietnamese language skills are a plus
