This role will be within the AutoSync team. AutoSync supports over 3,500 dealerships nationwide, delivering cutting-edge software tools to simplify operations, boost marketing, and drive sales.

The Senior Quality Engineer works across agile teams to ensure they meet functional, performance, and code standard requirements. This role requires that software engineering best practices be applied to the domain of software quality testing. Working closely with engineering managers, product owners, and other agile team members, the Senior QE ensures that the testing process for our services is achieved, maintained and following up-to-date industry standards.

What You Will Do:

• Defining quality testing standards and metrics for our products and projects.

• Continually improve our testing standards, tools and processes.

• Defining best practices for test coverage, automation and the general testing lifecycle.

• Help bring AI driven practices to our QA process

• Coach and mentor the development on testing best practices

• Communicating with all stakeholders to ensure that the quality metrics are agreed upon and continually reviewed.

• Ensure testing metrics are visible via reporting and dashboards.

• Ensuring all development tasks meet quality standards through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and defect tracking.

• Develop and ensure a strategy that favors test automation over manual testing.

• Maintain and expand existing automation frameworks, tooling and processes.

• Ensure a proper test plan and stakeholder review process.

• Ensure proper coverage of various testing strategies like unit, functional, performance, stress, acceptance, etc.

• Be a point of contact for all the escalations related to testing and quality assurance.

• Assist in creating quality assurance objectives.

• Work with the team to improve the CI/CD and deployment pipeline.

What You Bring To The Table:

• Experience in defining the technical quality assurance strategy of engineering teams

• An expert in both manual and automated testing

• Proven ability to explore new technologies and helping teams to use them

• A passion for AI and how it can apply to the QA domain

• Strong knowledge of the “Test Pyramid” and general testing strategies.

• Strong programming skills and software development best practices (JavaScript, Python, etc)

• Strong with test case management best practices and tooling.

Must Have Experience:

• 6+ years hands-on software testing and development experience.

• Strong experience testing high traffic public facing website UIs and APIs

• Strong command of the Playwright automation framework

• Hands on experience using Generative AI tooling to optimize QA operations

• Hands-on experience with automation and automation environment requirements

• Experience with formal test case management software

• Experience providing QA health reports that track relevant key metrics

• Experience with load testing using JMeter, or similar.

• Experience working within a formal CI/CD pipeline.

• Good understanding of version control tools such as GIT.

• Agile methodology experience.

Nice-To-Have Experience:

• Native web application mobile testing and automation experience (iOS, Android)

• Experience in BDD/TDD.

• AWS code pipeline - build and deployment experience.

• Jira/Confluence experience.

• Kanban tools and processes experience.

• New Relic/Datadog hands on experience.

The base salary range for this position is CAD 80,000 – CAD 110,000.

This range reflects the expected compensation at the time of posting. The final offer may vary and can be higher based on relevant skills, experience, location, and market conditions. Based on the role the total rewards package may also include benefits, bonus, and other employee offerings.
