Step into a role where your expertise in quality and QHSSE can make a meaningful impact across a diverse and dynamic operational environment. We are looking for a Senior QHSSE Advisor who will play a central part in strengthening our quality management systems, supporting ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, and guiding teams to deliver safe and consistent performance. This is an opportunity to work closely with operational staff, laboratories, project managers and functional leads while acting as a trusted source of technical advice and independent support.

In this position you will help drive continuous improvement by leading audits, supporting accreditations, analysing performance data, and promoting a culture of care and proactive risk management. You will also provide day to day HSSE guidance, contribute to incident investigations and ensure that quality and safety standards are understood and embedded across the business.  If you are motivated by improving systems, influencing positive behaviours and enabling teams to work safely and effectively, this role offers a rewarding next step

Your role and responsibilities:

• Operationalise quality and HSSE policies, systems, programmes and practices across multiple projects or locations
• Ensure alignment with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, local legislation, client requirements and operational needs
• Plan, conduct and document verification and monitoring activities
• Carry out inspections and audits, identify gaps and recommend preventive or corrective actions
• Update or develop local procedures when required
• Support the Quality Systems Manager in maintaining effective Quality Management Systems
• Contribute to the management and development of the UK Business Management System
• Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective actions
• Support third party certifications, laboratory accreditations and scope extensions
•  Analyse and report quality performance data and act as a focal point for project and business quality information
• Facilitate risk assessments and recommend effective controls
• Ensure QHSSE requirements and controls are established and functioning before work begins
• Provide guidance on permits, licences, management of change and dynamic risk assessments
• Promote a culture of care, proactive risk management and continuous improvement
• Build strong relationships with operational teams and provide mentoring and training
• Maintain communication with clients and external stakeholders on QHSSE matters
• Conduct site visits to understand operational challenges and support improvements
• Provide technical advice and hands on support on QHSSE matters
• Translate requirements into operational practice through instructions, procedures, tools and training
• Act as focal point for assigned QHSSE topics and drive continuous improvement
• Support a psychologically safe environment that encourages reporting of QHSSE challenges and events
• Lead local event investigations and support investigations of more serious incidents
• Report on HSSE metrics and use data to identify strengths, gaps and improvement opportunities

What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in either environmental science, occupational health and safety or quality management or equivalent
• Demonstrable competence in a quality focused role with experience implementing management systems and reporting
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001
• Preferable experience in laboratory quality management and knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and HSE standards (ISO 45001 and 14001)
• Preferable Lead Auditor qualification and auditing experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and PowerBI
• Ability to use company systems such as Sphera, Dome, Shape and SharePoint
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report performance data
• Ability to provide technical guidance and support across operational teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Clean driving licence
• Full UK passport
• Ability to travel within the UK and to Belgium and Netherlands laboratories
