Senior QC / Automation Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior QC Engineer is responsible for leading quality assurance and automation activities across multiple software projects, ensuring delivery of reliable, high-performing digital solutions. The role combines hands-on testing, automation framework development, and mentoring of junior engineers. It requires strong technical expertise in QA methodologies, test automation tools, and Agile delivery practices, along with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve on time, quality focused releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Control and Testing Execution

o Lead the preparation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios covering functional, regression, and integration testing.

o Conduct manual and automated testing to validate system requirements, design, and performance.

o Review requirements and technical specifications to provide structured, timely feedback to development teams.

o Identify, record, and track software defects, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure effective closure.

o Perform regression testing after bug fixes or system enhancements.

• Automation and Technical Support

o Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and related tools.

o Implement and maintain data-driven or behavior-driven (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber, Protractor, or equivalents.

Integrate automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps engineers.

o Script automated tests using a modern programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, C#, or Java).

o Apply advanced SQL, API, and backend testing to validate data consistency and integration flows.

o Ensure adherence to coding standards, reusability, and documentation quality across all automation scripts.

• Agile & Collaboration

o Act as the QA representative within Agile ceremonies, ensuring test coverage for each sprint and release.

o Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria and optimize testing approaches.

o Mentor junior QC engineers, providing technical guidance and peer reviews on test design and automation best practices.

o Communicate testing progress, defect metrics, and quality insights to project management and stakeholders.

o Process Improvement & Governance

o Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA/QC frameworks, templates, and testing methodologies.

o Introduce innovations in automation, performance, and security testing where applicable.

o Track and report quality metrics such as defect density, coverage rate, and automation efficiency.

o Ensure alignment with organizational standards, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines.

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of professional experience in software testing, including both manual and automation testing.

• Proven expertise with Selenium Suite, TestNG/JUnit, or equivalent frameworks.

• Hands-on scripting experience in one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, C#, or Java).

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile/Scrum principles.

• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for issue tracking and reporting.

• Knowledge of performance or security-testing tools is an advantage.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills in English (Arabic preferred).

• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification preferred.

• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
