We are seeking a Senior Python Data Engineer to contribute to our next level of growth and expansion.

What is this position about?

This role focuses on leading the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-based data and identity-related platforms. The Python Data Engineering Manager will work closely with application, product, and platform teams to build and maintain infrastructure, APIs, and integrations that support Identity and Access Management (IAM) and data access frameworks.

The position requires strong Python development skills, deep AWS and Terraform experience, and the ability to provide technical leadership while collaborating with globally distributed teams. The role is open to candidates based in Uruguay or Argentina, with remote work available and hybrid options in Montevideo.

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based services and data integrations supporting IAM and access management platforms.
• Deploy, optimize, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Terraform Enterprise).

• Collaborate with application and product teams to onboard internally hosted, SaaS, and homegrown applications into centralized data and access frameworks.

• Support integrations between IAM tools and enterprise platforms such as IGA solutions, ServiceNow, and Okta.

• Perform high-level data mapping and data management activities to integrate application user access data.

• Develop and maintain Terraform Enterprise (TFE) projects, AWS resources, and reusable modules.

• Build and maintain event-driven and serverless systems using AWS services.

• Design and support APIs and backend services for platform integrations.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design, code quality standards, and best practices for collaborative development.

• Act as a technical reference for best practices in architecture, security, and scalability.

• Advanced experience developing, debugging, and testing Python applications.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including source control and collaborative development workflows.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform / Terraform Enterprise, including module design, dependency management, and project structuring.

• Solid experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, ALB, DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, SNS, and SQS.

• Experience building event-driven architectures and serverless or containerized solutions.

• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional, distributed teams.

• Availability to work flexible shift hours to support global communication when needed.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of access management and authorization concepts.

 
• Experience working with PBAC, RBAC, or ABAC models.

 
• Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform.

 
• Prior exposure to IAM or identity-centric data platforms.

Advanced English proficiency is required for effective communication with international teams and stakeholders.

How much experience must I have?

We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or related roles, with demonstrated technical leadership experience.
