Senior Project Manager - Ventana Special Projects

Position Summary

As a Senior Project Manager with Ventana Special Projects, you will lead and deliver a diverse, complex portfolio of mid-scale $10-50 million construction and renovation projects with a focus on fast-paced timelines, high client engagement, and exceptional quality. You will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through execution, closeout, and warranty, while ensuring safety, financial performance, and client satisfaction. You will work closely with the project team throughout the construction process to deliver the best service possible for our clients. You will be responsible for the on-time completion of quality projects, maximizing efficiency, controlling costs, and building relationships with every person involved in the project.

As a Senior Project Manager your key accountabilities will involve:

Leading end-to-end project delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are achieved.

Managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously, including tenant improvements, renovations, retrofits, and smaller capital projects.

Overseeing preconstruction activities such as budgeting, estimating, constructability reviews, value engineering, and trade procurement.

Reviewing documents, project drawings, contracts, and specifications in detail and informing the appropriate team about potential issues or conflicts.

Planning and managing daily operations and project schedules while monitoring project progress.

Monitoring expenditures effectively, reviewing invoices in detail, and managing labour and material costs according to the project budget and underlying estimate.

Preparing contracts and confidently negotiating revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.

Conducting regular site visits to review progress, ensure safety practices are followed, and resolve issues proactively.

Leading project meetings with consultants, trade partners, and clients, ensuring clear communication and timely decision-making.

Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the project.

Managing project closeout activities, including deficiency management, turnover documentation, and warranty coordination.

Training and mentoring Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

As a Senior Project Manager your experience and qualifications will include:

10+ years of construction management experience, preferably with a general contractor or general contractor’s special projects division.

Post-secondary education in Construction or Project Management (PMPP, Gold Seal, ABT, Construction Management, or other construction-based formal education).

Experience managing projects valued at $10-50 million independently from start to finish.

Experience with commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial construction.

Proven track record of delivering multiple fast-paced, complex projects simultaneously.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost management, and contract administration.

Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Autodesk tools).
