Senior Project Manager (AI)

CORUS is looking for a Senior Project Manager (AI) to join our team in an international project.

Location: Barcelona or Madrid (1 day per week at the office).

The team is responsible for the operational management of distinct mid-size to large-size projects of a program and ensures that the overall project objectives are clearly defined and met. These projects are characterized by medium to large complexity, medium to large change and communications elements and important business impact.

Key responsibilities

End-to-End Project Delivery :

Lead complex AI initiatives, including Generative AI, machine learning, and data engineering projects, from initiation through deployment
Manages and delivers multiple projects, medium & large sized.
Facilitates and coordinates the completion of its agreed deliverables with the project team.
Responsible for the overall quality of project deliverables and removing any impediments to deliver the project on quality, time and on budget.
Manages the dependencies, internal and external to the project.
Ensure timely and appropriate planning, management, control, and the ultimate disposition of project information to enable effective decision making and ensure successful project outcomes.

Strategic Alignment : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives and key results (KPIs)

Risk Mitigation : Identify potential roadblocks in AI development, such as data scarcity or model accuracy issues, and implement proactive solutions.

Stakeholder Management :

Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, providing regular executive-level updates on progress, budget, and risks.
Communicates proactively and effectively with project stakeholders, customers and the leadership team to manage expectations and outcomes.

Resource & Budget Management : Manage project financials, including vendor fees, computing resources (cloud costs), and personnel allocation.

Governance & Compliance :

Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and responsible AI principles.
Ensure AI initiatives adhere to responsible AI principles, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR), and ethical guidelines regarding bias and transparency.
Adheres to the overall Project Management Framework and PMO’s governance (project charter, project budget and funding, risk/issue management, project plan, change request, status updates, etc).

You should have

Experience : 5-7+ years in project management, managing large, multi-functions, multi-geography projects in Financial Institution companies, with significant experience in AI, SaaS, machine learning, or high-stakes technology/software engineering initiatives. All in fast-paced environments. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in managing distributed project teams in a multi-cultural environment.
Technical Proficiency : Deep understanding of AI technologies, ML Lifecycle, MLOps, data pipelines, and the limitations of current AI tools.
Methodologies : Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project methodologies. At least 3-5 years’ experience in managing projects with scrum/agile methodology.
Education & Certification : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or related field; PMP or other project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2), Agile (Scrum Master) certification is a plus.
Tools : Experience with tools like JIRA, MS Project, or similar PM software.
Leadership and communication skills : Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Communication and presentation skills, and experience in working with C-level, Fluent English is a must.
