The incumbent will design, implement, and support quality BI applications that meet the business needs, and ensure that the BI applications created will meet specifications.
Responsibilities
• Design, plan, and implement BI solutions (such as ETL or ELT, reporting, and generating multidimensional structures) with the development team
• Actively participate in Transat’s digital transformation, with the migration of the actual BI platform to Cloud technologies
• Actively work with various contributors, from business partners to technical experts
• Make strategic recommendations in line with the current ecosystem and best practices
• Assess the general time required for all development stages of the solution
• Provide support and maintenance for the applications developed and, as needed, 24/7 emergency support
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline
• Six years of programming experience (minimum) and three years of BI application development experience;
• Application development background and experience with Microsoft BI suite (MSQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI)
• Familiar with Cloud data technologies (Snowflake, Big Query), an asset
• Adept at ETL concepts and development (logging, tracking, Star schema and data vault modeling, metadata management, etc.)
• Creative, with an aptitude for and an interest in solving complex problems
• A cooperative team player
• Bilingualism mandatory (spoken and written)
