About the Role
The Senior Production Supervisor provides leadership and direction across all areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team morale within the Butter Production Plant. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, strengthening customer relationships, optimizing plant resources, and maintaining positive employee relations.
Additional responsibilities include developing and executing the site budget, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and fostering a workplace culture that supports continuous improvement, diversity, and inclusion.
What You'll Do
Operations & Production
• Manages, plans, and schedules daily plant operations.
• Oversees all functions, including production, processing, quality, sanitation, maintenance, purchasing, safety, and environmental.
• Ensures safe, efficient manufacturing and packaging of quality products.
• Maximizes asset utilization to achieve or exceed customer expectations.
Quality & Food Safety
• Actively involved in all quality-related aspects of the Plant.
• Drives Food Safety initiatives in partnership with Operations and QA.
• Assists in HACCP management system plans and implementation.
• Ensures Plant compliance with FDA regulations and guidelines.
• Supports SQF accreditation efforts and maintains SQF code requirements.
• Conducts employee training on Quality and SQF programs.
• Upholds FSSC Section 5.3.3: “All persons shall have the responsibility to report problem(s) with regard to the FSMS to identified person(s).”
Leadership & Communication
• Provides strong leadership, coaching, and support to Plant personnel and the leadership team.
• Promotes positive communication at all levels of the organization.
• Drafts department policies and protocols; supports corporate policy development.
• Creates a positive and inclusive work environment that supports continuous improvement.
Other
• Performs additional projects or tasks as assigned.
About You
•
2+ years of work experience in food manufacturing or food processing (dairy preferred).
•
2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
•
Basic computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
•
Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and communicate with others. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in heat and cold/inclement weather.
