Job summary
Platform common services are the common, generic utilities that are available to every tenant/application/solution that deploys on the DigiCert® ONE platform. This role will take immediate ownership of existing services, and contribute to the definition, design and planning for future services.
This role will partner closely with all Product teams and associated stakeholders at DigiCert to understand their business and technical requirements that potentially express dependencies on Platform Common Services. This role will collaborate with product teams across the portfolio, manage the delivery and success of platform components in a data-driven manner, and drive priorities that maximize platform value to both internal and external customers. The Senior Platform Product Manager participates in strategic and tactical activities for medium-to-large projects with complex cross-portfolio and cross-functional requirements. They serve as the champion for their assigned area(s) and may serve as product owner for one or more development teams. This is a high-visibility role with the potential to participate in and drive initiatives at all levels across the organization. Individuals in this role may participate in mentoring lower-level contributors and learn how to help grow others in their careers.
What you will do
The Senior Platform Product Manager, Common Services will establish a backlog of portfolio requirements that express dependencies on Platform common services and actively maintain a prioritized stack-ranking to inform their executable roadmap. They will regularly collaborate across the business to collect and socialize with a comprehensive, accurate and detailed set of feature requirements for one or more major platform initiatives.
Primary responsibilities and Duties include:
Inbound Elements:
• Manages the lifecycle of one or more platform products/components, from concept to maturity, in close collaboration with other product teams across the portfolio
• Contributes to the discussion to set business priorities that feed into the planning and execution of platform initiatives in close collaboration with other product teams and functions to ensure alignment with the needs of the business.
• Participates in the buy/build assessment for platform components where appropriate, along with vendor assessment and proposal
• Contributes to the decomposition of strategic objectives into phased operational and tactical goals and measures.
• Owns the technical definition, prioritization and hygiene of product backlog(s) throughout the concept through delivery process
• Author of product briefs, product requirements documents, use cases, functional workflows in support of platform objectives
• Owns the execution and outcome by partnering closely with immediate platform core team (Engineering, Architecture & UX) as well solutions core teams to represent business objectives along with supporting requirements to realize value, and to problem solve obstacles to delivery
• Readily identifies and resolves conflicts cross functionally to ensure alignment of priorities and delivery to leadership expectations
• Exercises leadership as product champion to build the sense of “team” necessary to guide projects to a successful outcome and to set proper urgency/energy levels as appropriate o Models and fosters company values across delivery teams to ensure overall team and project success
• Works with peers in Product Management and Engineering to regularly identify and implement ways to improve collaboration and operational aspects of product, platform and cross-functional operations
Outbound Elements:
• Contributes to the platform market vision, strategy, planning, and execution
• Supports sales to provide deal support and to have conversations with customers and prospects to gain a depth of understanding of their business requirements, to solicit participation in proof of concepts, beta releases, and advisory counsels
• Participates as necessary in conversations with Finance to develop Pricing and Packaging strategies
• Participates as necessary in conversations with Marketing to develop GTM strategy, messaging, positioning and supporting artifacts
Experience/Competencies/Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to drive cooperation and alignment across product portfolio solutions and organizational functions in support of Platform Objectives
• Competency for balanced decision making and decision follow-through – including problem definition, alternative definition and selection, trade-off analysis, success criteria definition, and overall execution
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain trust and respect.
• Knowledge and use of technical, market and customer research methodologies
• Strong written and oral communication skills for internal audiences and externally with customers. They are a trusted voice of product
• Technical aptitude capable of comprehending target customer IT infrastructure, products and services at the system, data flow and API level, the ins and outs of development, design, agile framework, software development, and scrum approach.
• Highly detail-oriented and able to manage many tasks for multiple requesters simultaneously
• Ability to foster credibility amongst peers, to find common ground and solve problems for the good of all, represent their own interests yet be fair to other groups, can solve problems with a minimum of disruption/escalation
What you will have
• 3+ years of experience in a technical or product role
• Credential or degree in business or engineering
