What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end feature development, from scoping to production, ensuring quality, performance, and delightful UX.

• Bring an obsessive level of taste to the product. You sweat the details, making sure the experience is polished and intuitive. You don’t just build software; you craft experiences.

• Think in systems, not just features. You connect the dots across tech debt, scalability concerns, and new features to make sure we’re always a step ahead.

• Act like an owner. When you see a problem, you fix it. When you don’t know how, you figure it out. You drive work forward, proactively and with urgency.

• Raise the bar and inspire those around you. You bring energy and passion to the team, setting a high standard for craftsmanship, speed, and impact.

• Work closely with customers to shape the product and provide support that goes beyond just closing tickets—you build relationships and make users love Rootly.

• Architect and scale core infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance at every level.

What You'll Need

You don’t need a fancy degree or FAANG experience. What matters to us is your ability to execute, influence, and inspire. If you resonate with the following, we want to hear from you:

• 5+ years of experience working with Ruby on Rails, Ruby, and JavaScript with a bonus for Hotwire, ViewComponents, Tailwind, and similar frameworks.

• Strong full-stack capabilities with the ability to dive into backend infrastructure as comfortably as crafting delightful front-end experiences.

• You know what looks good, what feels good, and how to make an experience magical. You sweat the details because they matter.

• Bias toward action. Small imperfections drive you crazy, and you fix them instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

• Deep systems thinking. You build for scale and longevity, not just for the next sprint. You think about architecture holistically.

• An obsession with engineering excellence. You care deeply about performance, reliability, security, and quality.

• Strong communication skills. You can explain complex technical concepts simply and effectively to both engineers and non-engineers.

• Product instinct. You don’t just take tickets, rather you challenge ideas, see the bigger picture, and contribute to the end-to-end user journey.

• A collaborative mindset. You don’t work in silos. You push others to be better and elevate the team through code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

• A sense of urgency. You know that every minute counts, and you work with intensity and focus.
