Context & project
Decathlon’s mission is to bring people together through sport and make wellbeing accessible for all. To ensure this mission remains sustainable and competitive, we are scaling New Business Models (NBM): Rental, Second Life, Buyback, Repair, and B2B models (Wholesale & Leasing). Our goal is to make all those new business models part of the future “business as usual” for Decathlon, embedding them across the company (from production & logistics to in-store & digital commerce).
Your mission
In this context, we’re looking for a Staff or Senior Product Designer to level up our game on employee experiences for new business models, both in-stores and in warehouses. Why? Because employees play a key role in the customer experience, as they provide guidance, support and a fair dose of passion. They are Decathlon’s “secret sauce”, and the main driver for in-store customer satisfaction.
As a Senior/Staff practitioner, you will collaborate with cross-functional product teams (Product, Product designers , Engineering, Business) to identify, influence and lead opportunities to improve end-to-end teammate journeys:
• In-store: Optimizing digital flows for buyback, rental, leasing, wholesale and workshop activities.
• In-warehouse: Solving complex challenges in product refurbishment, stock relocation (RePlay), and "reverse flow" logistics.

Strategic Influence
• Enlighten Decisions: Influence long-term strategy and quarterly roadmaps by providing a holistic view of teammate journeys.
• Ecosystem Thinking: Align stakeholders across different domains (In-Store, Value Chain, B2B) to ensure a consistent "métier" experience.
• Outcome-Driven: Prioritize long-term impact (teammate empowerment) over short-term feature outputs.
Craft / Core skills
Strategy & Framing
• Drive Product Outcomes: Support high-level product decisions (outcomes, opportunities, solutions) through deep research insights and the use of Opportunity Solution Trees (OSTs).
• Stakeholder Alignment: Co-define and align diverse stakeholders (Product, Business, Ops) around target teammate journeys to ensure a unified vision across the New Business ecosystem.
• Initiative Framing: Support teams in framing new initiatives from scratch—defining scope, identifying key stakeholders, and setting measurable success metrics.
Research & Problem Discovery
• Holistic Discovery: Uncover and refine opportunities through mixed-method research (qualitative/quantitative).
• Journey Mapping: Map end-to-end service journeys and "opportunity spaces" to visualize complex flows.
• Knowledge Management: Ensure findings are actionable by maintaining a robust documentation system for the organization.
Solution Discovery & Testing
• Design Partnership: Support designers and "product trios" by actively leading design critiques and usability test sessions.
• Teammate Advocacy: Act as the "voice of the teammate" to ensure journey consistency across platforms
• Research Guidance: Provide expert methodology guidance to peer designers, helping them de-risk their own solutions.
