As a Senior Product Designer on the Economy team, you will help design the core economic systems that enable creators to build businesses and users to participate confidently in virtual economies. You’ll work on foundational surfaces such as creator earnings, monetization workflows, payouts, spending, and financial management — translating complex economic infrastructure into clear, trustworthy, and scalable experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of systems design, workflow design and platform thinking. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, Legal, and Policy to design experiences that are resilient, transparent, and aligned with the long-term health of the Roblox ecosystem. This is a role for a designer who thrives at the intersection of creativity, systems thinking, and business impact — translating complex ecosystems into elegant, high-craft experiences that scale.

You Will:

• Define and evolve end-to-end experiences for creator earnings, monetization, payouts, and reinvestment workflows.

• Design systems that help creators manage their businesses on Roblox — from earning and spending to collaboration and value distribution.

• Partner with Product to shape the UX strategy and roadmap for economic platforms that serve creators, users, and the broader ecosystem.

• Translate complex financial, technical, and policy constraints into intuitive, trustworthy user experiences.

• Design scalable frameworks, primitives, and patterns that can support future economic products and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate deeply with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Policy to ensure designs are robust, compliant, and operationally sound.

• Use data, research, and experimentation to validate direction, identify friction, and drive measurable improvements.

• Prototype complex, multi-state workflows in Figma and communicate system behavior clearly through flows, models, and narratives.

• Understand the unique needs of players, creators, and brands to design experiences that create mutual value across the ecosystem.

• Use data, insights, and research to identify opportunities, validate direction, and refine experiences for both brands and users.

• Leverage analytics, experimentation, and player feedback to identify pain points and drive continuous improvement.

• Communicate and present design rationale and strategy clearly across teams and leadership forums.

• Contribute to design culture through mentorship, critique, and raising the bar on craft and clarity.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience designing complex product or platform experiences at scale.

• A portfolio demonstrating strong systems thinking, workflow design, and end-to-end product ownership.

• Experience designing for creator tools, monetization, commerce, fintech, or other economically complex domains.

• Comfort navigating ambiguity and influencing cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, and Policy.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Mastery of Figma and confidence prototyping complex, multi-step interactions.

• Experience designing financial tools, payout systems, or regulated product surfaces. (Bonus)

• Familiarity with creator ecosystems, marketplaces, or virtual economies. (Bonus)

• Experience designing platforms or primitives that scale across multiple product teams. (Bonus)

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range
$254,470—$303,070 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
