Senior Procurement - Strategic Sourcing

Nielsen is embarking on a transformational journey to modernize and streamline its end-to-end procurement processes. We need a skilled senior Procurement Professional to help our teams navigate these changes. The Sr. Procurement Professional I will develop and execute sourcing plans for the Data category while maintaining strategic supplier relationships and end-to-end ownership of key contracts.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the assessment, selection, negotiation, and execution of contracts and relationship management of providers of services to Nielsen, including Data Purchases & Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Nielsen business units to develop and execute effective negotiation strategies, optimize data management, drive process excellence, and foster clear communication to ensure the delivery of best-in-class products and services at the lowest possible cost.

• Gain support and execute the global procurement sourcing strategy.

• Lead the strategic procurement activities involving the assessment, selection, negotiation and management for externally contracted services.

• Negotiate commercial requirements and provisions in contracts, while working closely with the Legal team to review terms and conditions,  ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and enterprise policies.

• Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations.

• Proactively identify areas of opportunity for cost savings, process improvement, procedures and/or systems to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls.

• Identify and recommend strategies to optimize supplier capabilities and enhance value for Nielsen's business needs.

• Drive Total Cost of Ownership reductions for categories through analytics.

• Bachelor's degree plus 5-8 years of experience in strategic sourcing product and services procurement with expertise in driving cost saving initiatives and other desired business outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience and strong interest in strategic sourcing with experience purchasing data preferred

• Experience developing and implementing category strategy leading to year-over-year KPI improvement (for example, cost savings, diversity spend, etc.).

• Prior experience in sourcing event management (RFX management): Scoping & Planning, Detailed Requirements Definition & SOW Development, Evaluation & Selection, Negotiation & Contract Award, Implementation, Relationship & Contract Management, and Contract Transition & Termination.

• Solid understanding of product offerings and/or proven experience negotiating complex global agreements with large-scale suppliers

• Ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing effectively to meet tight deadlines.

• Working knowledge of Ariba, Power BI, or other P2P platforms or spend analytics applications preferred.
