Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Location: Aurora, CO (On-site)Job Type: Contractor or Contract-to-Hire (W-2)Clearance: Active TS/SCI (with ability to obtain Polygraph)Pay: $175,000 - $200,000

About the Program

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to provide leadership and direction to Agile software development teams supporting a large-scale satellite ground system pursuit within a premier defense space program.

This role is part of a newly awarded preliminary design effort to develop next-generation satellite mission management and command-and-control systems. The engineer will ensure the system is fully defined, documented, verified, and validated prior to operational deployment.

This position is 100% onsite in Aurora, CO.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical analyses and define system behavior, including creating operational use cases• Decompose requirements, define system interfaces, and establish verification & validation (V&V) methods• Support system architecture, design, integration, and test activities to ensure successful V&V prior to operational release• Lead a mixed team consisting of employees, subcontractors, and leased labor across all phases of Systems Engineering• Contribute to Agile software development processes and ensure engineering alignment across teams

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)• 10+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience• Prior experience serving as a lead Systems Engineer in a software development environment• Experience with requirements decomposition, interface definition, and system-level V&V• Active and transferable TS/SCI security clearance (required prior to start)• Ability to obtain a polygraph post-hire
