Senior Power BI Developer

Role Overview

The Senior Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced business intelligence solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. The role involves close collaboration with business users, analysts, and data engineers to build interactive dashboards, optimize data models, and ensure the accuracy and performance of Power BI solutions.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, technical expertise in Microsoft BI tools, and the ability to translate business needs into effective visual and analytical outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Visualization

o Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.

o Ensure data accuracy, performance, and visual consistency across reports and dashboards.

o Apply data storytelling principles to present insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Data Modeling & Transformation

o Develop, refine, and optimize data models that support analytical and operational reporting.

o Use Power Query and Data Analysis Expressions for data transformation and business logic.

o Implement efficient schema designs and adhere to best practices in model relationships.

Data Integration

o Connect Power BI to various data sources including SQL Server, Azure Synapse, SharePoint, Excel, and APIs.

o Work closely with technical teams to ensure smooth ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines and reliable data refresh processes.

o Contribute data-quality validation and troubleshooting of refresh or connectivity issues.

Performance Optimization & Governance

o Monitor and optimize Power BI report performance and dataset efficiency.

o Implement necessary controls and governance policies to ensure data confidentiality and compliance.

o Support version control and deployment standards across BI environments.

Collaboration & Support

o Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

o Provide user support, training, and documentation for Power BI solutions.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote data-driven decision-making and standardization of BI practices.

Continuous Improvement

o Evaluate emerging BI tools, features, and cloud capabilities to improve scalability and performance.

o Contribute to the continuous enhancement of data governance and analytics maturity within the organization.

Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information system, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of professional experience in BI development or data analytics, including 4+ years in Power BI.

• Proven expertise with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• Strong command of DAX, Power Query , and SQL Server.

• Understanding data warehousing, ETL, and schema design.

• Experience integrating Power BI with systems

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and Agile/DevOps environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Fluency in English and Arabic.
