About the role

This is a Senior PHP Engineer position within a Scrum-based development environment, focused on building and delivering high-quality software using PHP as the core technology. The role is designed for an experienced engineer who brings strong PHP fundamentals and a pragmatic approach to software delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional, Scrum-based development teams to design, build, and deliver high-quality software solutions
• Develop and maintain robust, production-ready PHP features across existing and new systems
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to their technical growth through code reviews and guidance
• Drive and promote best engineering practices, including test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD, and strong software design standards
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong, hands-on expertise in PHP as a primary programming language
• Proven ability to deliver maintainable, high-quality PHP code in production environments
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
• Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across engineering and product teams
• Comfortable contributing to testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have:
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
• Familiarity with Laravel (beneficial, not required)
• Experience integrating APIs
• Exposure to Docker and CI/CD tooling
• Experience working with AWS
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases
• Some experience with JavaScript or React
• Prior experience leading tasks or mentoring
