About Global Vehicle Group
Global Vehicle Group (GVG) is the UK’s largest and most diverse B2B leasing broker. Through our specialist brands – Global Vans, Fleet Alliance, XLCR and LCV Group – we manage over 70,000 vehicles with assets under management exceeding £2.5 billion.
This role is primarily based at Global Vans in Bristol but with some travel across our other business areas in the UK.
The Role
As Senior People & Culture Adviser for the UK business, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we attract, manage, develop, and support our people in a high-performance automotive and sales-driven environment.
This role focuses on supporting operational HR within the group while supporting the business through a group-wide standardisation programme. You’ll work closely with the Group Head of People and Culture to help deliver the people strategy and manage day to day HR.
What I will I be doing
Key point of contact in the region for all HR queries and support
Deliver practical, commercially focused HR solutions.
Advise and support managers with performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance, onboarding, reward, wellbeing and employee engagement.
Giving advice and training on our Group Employee Handbook
Support recruitment activity including offers, onboarding processes and background checks
Understanding of UK employment law and how this impacts policies and procedures
Supporting the implementation of People & Culture systems (HRIS), ensuring they enable efficient processes, accurate data and a positive user experience for managers and employees.
Driving CSR and engagement initiatives
Support payroll administration and data management/reporting
Collaborating with People & Culture colleagues across the wider group to drive standardisation
Supporting change activity, including restructures, consultations, and TUPE processes
Identify and support HR projects and improvement opportunities
What will I need to succeed
Proven experience in an HR role with relevant experience, ideally in a similar industry
Strong experience modernising People & Culture processes and policies, particularly in growing or changing organisations.
Solid, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and confidence managing employee relations cases.
Great PC skills and experience using HR systems
Confident, credible communicator able to influence and challenge leaders at all levels.
Pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple operational activities and stakeholders
CIPD Level 5 preferred
