Pegasus Pensions PLC (“Pegasus”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c., a FTSE 250 listed p.l.c. Whilst our sister company, LawDeb Pension Trustees, provides independent trusteeship to help trustee boards make confident decisions, Pegasus provides outsourced pensions executive services to pension scheme managers, trustee boards and corporate sponsors to help deliver a well thought out strategy supported by strong governance and efficient operations.
Pegasus currently has a team of 25 pensions executives with a combined 300+ years of experience in the pensions industry. Our team has a rich and diverse background. Our previous roles include in-house pensions executives to trustees and corporates, pension consultants, actuaries, governance specialists and administration managers, bringing a breadth of experience and complementary skill sets to support our clients. We take great care to hire professionals with a genuine interest in, and commitment to, delivering best practice in governance.
Role Overview
Principal Duties
Outsourced pensions executive services and projects:
Business planning/organisation – liaising with chair/trustees/in-house pensions leads and other stakeholders
Managing relationships with/ sourcing input from advisers and service providers on behalf of trustee boards and corporates
Scheme secretarial duties - meeting organisation/ preparation of quality agenda packs/ introducing agenda items/ minutes/ follow-up actions
Oversight and co-ordination of routine scheme projects e.g. annual report and accounts
Ongoing governance activity - including budgeting, maintaining business plans/risk registers, annual returns etc
Governance projects e.g. trustee effectiveness, service provider reviews and procurement projects
Member communications – reviewing and devising content e.g. trustee newsletters, member website
Strategic change projects – varying levels of involvement, as required – from oversight to full project management (e.g. implementing investment strategy, scheme de-risking and wind-up projects)
Business development and client care
Networking, maintaining and developing external relationships to support business growth
Developing marketing content – website, service line brochures, case studies, blog content
Managing client/ commercial relationships (e.g. RFPs, client agreements, invoicing)
In collaboration with Central LawDeb and Pension Trustee colleagues, leading on development of new and existing service lines for Pegasus
Team Management & Leadership
Managing the performance of a small number of Pensions Executives
Managing work allocations as required for designated clients/projects
Participating in recruitment activities
Establishing and documenting work protocols; maintaining work-management tools etc
General Duties
Contribute fully to the development and growth of this growing LawDeb business and ensure processes are efficient and effective, including thorough record-keeping and provision for client access
Undertake training and development as appropriate and engage fully in the performance management process.
Contribute to the LawDeb culture positively, attend meetings as required, and carry out duties willingly and diligently
Where regulatory rules apply, abide by these in spirit and fact
Carry out such other tasks as you may be reasonably directed to do by the senior management team from time to time

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience
APMI, actuarial or equivalent professional qualification
Demonstrable commercial approach
Strong experience of all types of occupational pension schemes/knowledge of pensions market
Up-to-date knowledge of technical pensions matters and industry developments
Competent user of MS office systems including Excel and Word.
Experience of managing third party / supplier/partner relationships
Outstanding communication, numeracy and data manipulation skills (incl. grammar and adapting communication style to suit audience)
