The role

We are looking for an Operations Officer to join an international team of professionals in our Luxembourg office on a full-time permanent basis. You will be working alongside our global offices and in frequent communication with international teams. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of operations practices, excellent working knowledge of Excel and a willingness to get involved.

You will be joining an experienced Operations team so both teamwork and communication skills will be paramount. You will implement the provision of services in Operations on their own initiative and in accordance with instructions, with a high quality of work.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Securities processing and external settlement: booking of all types of securities transactions, ensuring the correct and timely settlement in accordance with the counterparties to avoid penalty fees, incl. local and cross border settlement

• Payment processing: booking and settlement of all kinds of payments within the different payment channels, with different message standards SWIFT ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 via SWIFT, RTGS and SEPA

• Forex / Money Market transaction: booking and settlement of those transactions ensuring timely external settlement

• Regulatory reporting: MiFIR, EMIR on a case-by-case basis (including audit-proof documentation)

• Securities Master Data (including all tax-relevant data, ratings, risk classes, etc.) and ensure the daily, weekly and/or monthly maintenance of securities, commodity and foreign exchange prices

• Client Master Data: working on the onboarding process according to internal and external regulations

Essential Skills & Experience

• Securities Settlement: extensive knowledge of international settlement standards, in particular with regards to local settlement regulations, SWIFT standards (MT and MX), relevant legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the settlement of securities, such as CSSF, BCL, ESMA or EBA regulations, risk and technology requirements

• Payments: In-depth knowledge of international payment transactions, including the various payment channels SWIFT (ISO15022 and ISO 20022), Target2 and SEPA; comprehensive understanding of cross-border payment transactions and PSD2 regulations

• Asset data: excellent knowledge of the various types of securities, including derivatives and their accounting and tax implications

• Experience with Avaloq system would be considered as a major advantage

• Several years (min. 5 years) of experience in operational settlement areas with comprehensive knowledge of all types of transactions and their processing specifics

• Good language skills: Fluency in Portuguese and English required, Spanish would be considered an asset.
