Job Description
LifeLens Technologies, Inc. is a fast-growing healthcare technology startup building secure, resilient, and scalable private cloud infrastructure to power our next-generation health monitoring solutions. Our platform supports critical healthcare operations requiring the highest standards of security, compliance, and reliability.
Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Network Administrator/Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise networking, datacenter infrastructure, and security architectures. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in greenfield environments—where you'll design and build secure, high-performance network infrastructure across multiple datacenters supporting healthcare workloads. You will be instrumental in establishing our network backbone, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and enabling secure connectivity for our private cloud and edge deployments.
This is a full-time, on-site position
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage physical datacenter switching fabric including core, top-of-rack (TOR), and aggregation layers using enterprise platforms (Dell OS10, Arista, Cisco, etc.)
Architect and maintain robust Layer 2/3 enterprise networking including VLANs, LACP/link aggregation, jumbo frames, MTU optimization, QoS policies, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
Implement and manage enterprise firewall architectures (Sophos XGS, Palo Alto, Fortinet) including network segmentation, NAT, site-to-site and remote access VPNs, and deep packet inspection
Design and deploy SDN solutions (Cilium, Flannel, Open vSwitch, VXLAN overlays) to support multi-tenant Kubernetes environments and cloud-edge workloads
Implement Zero Trust networking principles and modern identity-aware firewall policies
Configure and manage secure remote access solutions for distributed teams and multi-site connectivity
Deploy, configure, and manage comprehensive network monitoring systems including traffic analysis, flow monitoring, SNMP-based monitoring, and network performance tools
Implement and manage network-level authentication solutions including RADIUS, 802.1x, and Network Access Control (NAC) integrated with SSO/identity providers
Support multi-datacenter connectivity including SDN overlays, MC-LAG configurations, and WAN optimization
Collaborate with Systems Engineering team to integrate network infrastructure with Kubernetes deployments and storage systems
Ensure network infrastructure meets FedRAMP, HIPAA, and FDA 510(k) compliance requirements
Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and runbooks
Participate in on-call rotation for critical network infrastructure
Required Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in enterprise networking or network engineering roles
Expert-level knowledge of physical network administration with enterprise switches, spanning tree, VLANs, and link aggregation
Strong hands-on experience with Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) in production environments
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise firewall architectures with segmentation strategies
Deep experience with network monitoring systems (PRTG, Nagios, LibreNMS, SolarWinds, or similar) including implementation, configuration, and alerting
Experience with SDN technologies, overlay networks, and network virtualization
Strong knowledge of network authentication protocols (RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1x) and integration with enterprise SSO solutions
Deep understanding of network security principles including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control
Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar)
Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network issues across OSI layers
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with Kubernetes network policies and CNI plugins (Cilium, Calico, Flannel)
Familiarity with healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53)
Experience in multi-datacenter environments with SDN overlays or MC-LAG
Exposure to IoT or edge compute networking requirements
Experience with Azure Government or AWS GovCloud networking
Industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent)
