Job Overview

      Elevate our creative endeavors as a Senior Modeling/Texturing Artist in our Animation/Modeling team. As a seasoned professional, you will take a lead role in crafting exceptional 3D models and textures, contributing to the visual brilliance of our projects. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll bring your expertise to align the artistic vision with project goals, ensuring a seamless integration of assets into the animation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and mentorship to modeling and texturing artists, fostering a culture of excellence and creativity.

Bring a wealth of experience to the team, guiding the creation of high-quality 3D models and textures.

Set the artistic direction for projects, ensuring alignment with overall creative vision and project objectives.

Collaborate closely with animators, riggers, and other team members to understand project requirements and integrate assets effectively.

Contribute to project discussions, offering artistic insights and solutions.

Oversee the quality assurance process, conducting thorough reviews of models and textures to uphold the highest standards.

Provide constructive feedback and implement revisions as needed.

Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and contribute to the development of efficient processes.

Collaborate with technical teams to implement industry-best practices and tools.

Foster continuous learning and development within the team, providing mentorship and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Must be proficient in relevant software including Maya,Arnold,Photoshop, Substance Painter and Zbrush

Experience with Bifrost, Houdini, Blender, Substance Designer, Mari a big plus

Expert understanding of topology and UV creation

Optimized workflows within standard software

Able to adapt to different styles and treatments to match client expectations

CG modeling/texturing experience required working in an Animation, Gaming, or Digital Visual Effects Studio.

CG experience creating and texturing models in Maya

Able to build and texture unique and/or complicated sets

Able to build and texture unique and/or complicated characters

Able to build and texture vehicles

Show an aptitude or specialize in characters or set modeling and texturing

Scripting ability in relevant languages including Python highly desirable

Assist with R & D development for new assets

Assist with training and mentoring Junior and Intermediate Artists

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to take feedback and apply it practically to your asset tasks

The wage range for this role reflects compensation across all of ICON’s projects. The final salary will be determined based on the specific position, the current show assignment, and the applicant’s experience and portfolio. This range accounts for varying levels of experience and responsibilities.
