Working closely with the Technical Architect and other engineers, you’ll be hands-on in delivering scalable, performant code while contributing to architectural improvements and platform evolution.
The Impact You’ll Make
Build and maintain Kotlin-based features within a large-scale Android application.
Contribute to modularisation efforts that improve maintainability and delivery speed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs, BFF changes, and new hybrid capabilities.
Participate in architectural discussions, offering practical insights grounded in delivery experience.
Ensure platform parity by partnering with iOS engineers on shared patterns and design consistency.
Identify and resolve performance, stability, and integration issues.
Apply and advocate for Android best practices across teams.
Technology Stack & Requirements
5–7 years of Android development experience, primarily with Kotlin.
Experience working on high-traffic, consumer-facing mobile applications.
Solid understanding of Android SDK, lifecycle management, coroutines, and performance optimisation.
Comfortable navigating Gradle builds, dependency management, and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with modular architectures (e.g., feature modules, clean architecture).
Ability to read and maintain legacy Java code when needed.
Bonus Points
Exposure to hybrid frameworks such as React Native or WebView-based integrations.
Experience contributing to architectural refactors or migration projects.
Background in e-commerce, retail, or other transactional app domains.
Interest in performance tooling, testing, and build optimisation.
What You’ll Bring
Strong engineering fundamentals and a commitment to clean, maintainable code.
Pragmatic approach to balancing delivery speed and technical quality.
Curiosity about new Android patterns and hybrid approaches.
Team-oriented mindset and openness to mentorship and feedback.
Desire to grow into broader architectural influence over time.
